Hi Sarah Mmmmmm pork with apple sauce! I always cook pork slowly (160 degress). I plonk it in a roasting dish with a couple cms of water in the bottom. (Helps keep it moist). I then have to work out how long to cook it for. 30-40 mins per 500g approx. They usually take a couple of hours. Hope this helps Jo [Big Grin]

Sarah - I cut the fat off and put the meat in the crock pot which does take all day but is soooo tender. Then just before dinner I put the 'soon to be crackling' on an oven tray and make cuts in it. Mix together a little oil, salt and either tiny bit of lemon jucie or anything else acidic and then massage into the cuts. Cook on really really high until crackled. Keep a really close eye on it cos it can cook really fast. P.S if you don't have a crock pot, put the meat in the oven at about 150 for at least 4 hours but make sure you cover it with tinfoil to stop it from drying out. I would still cut most of the fat off but leave a thin layer to keep the meat moist. Also I have a friend who is a top chief and teacher of cookery and he totally recomends using watties apple baby food as your apple sauce (here I was thinking that i was being cheap using baby food!!)

I find my muffins always are hopeless so now I just make a chocolate cake or banana cake etc and pour it into muffins tins, never fails. Also here is the EASYEST AND YUMMYEST CHOC CAKE EVER... 3 cups flour 3 tsp baking powder 1 cup unsweetened yoghurt 1 tsp vanilla ess 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup strong coffee (YES STRONG COFFEE [Eek!] ) 1/4 cocoa 1 1/2 sugar 2 eggs 200grms softened butter Now just throw in all into a bowl, beat for a minute with an electric beater pour into cake tin. That's all [Big Grin] Preheat oven to 160, bake for 1 hour or 140 on fan bake for around 50 mins. When knife comes out clean it's done.

I make this all the time and its so great it uses ingredients that are normally in the pantry anyway, and the bikkies are soooooo yummy especially if you use Nestles chocolate drop bits!!! Melt 125gm butter, and add half cup sugar. Mix in 1 tablespn milk and one tablespn melted golden syrup. Sift in 1 and a half cups flour, and 1 teaspn b.p. Mix all up then add half cup or more choc chips. 15 mins at 170. I double this receipe as the kids generally eat the whole batch in one go otherwise!!!

lol I cant believe im actually posting on here, I usually cant bake for peanuts but I must have refined my culinary skills as of late. here is a fail safe pavlova recipe: turn oven 180 deg celcius, and make sure it is up to heat. -5 egg whites -5 Tblspn cold water -1 1/2 C Castor sugar -5 tspn cornflour (leveled) -1 1/2 tspns brown malt vinegar -small tsp vanilla essence beat egg whites untill stiff with an electic beater, add water, beat till stiff. gradually beat in sugar, add cornflour, vinegar and Vanilla. then beat lightly. cover an oven tray with baking paper or tinfoil. spoon mixture onto tray, making into a circular cake shape, dont spread it out too thinly you want it to be quite thick still. bake in overn for 10-15mins (untill starts to go goldenish) then turn off oven and leave pav in it for an hour. remove from oven cool and serve with cream and fruit..yum yum for xmas. [Big Grin] easy peasy nachos -1 tin of watties chilli beans -I packet of taco seasoning -500g mince -1 onion chopped - 1 clove garlic crushed - a sprinkle of chilli powder if you like it hot fry onion and garlic in a pan, add mince fry till brown, drain off excess oil, add chilli beans and seasoning cook for a further 5-10mins. sprinkle with grated cheese and serve with sour cream and corn chips (jalapeno flavour are the best) this is the quickest and yummiest meal I know. and Cade loooves it..well the chips anyway. [Big Grin]

Nic, this is the gingerbread recipe I've recently rediscovered. It's quite large - I make one cake and one loaf, but you could make 3 loaves (if you have enough tins!). Freezes really well, too. [Wink] 1 C golden syrup 1 C butter (6 oz) 3 C flour 1 C sugar 1 tsp salt 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp ground ginger 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp mixed spice 1 C milk 2 well beaten eggs Melt syrup and butter. Mix in dry ingredients. Add milk and eggs. Bake around 1 hour at 300F/150C

heya. oooh yummy chocolate crackles.I made them once without the kremalta and they have never tasted soo good. I got my favourite chocolate melted it in the microwave mixed it with ricies and spooned onto a tray then cooled in the refrigerator. this also is super yummy with cornflakes instead of ricies. [Big Grin] I still love those kremalta crackle too tho, the taste has soo many childhood memories [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
