When Jacob wakes up crying he is often very red in the face and there is always a red blotchiness to his forehead - a bit like tiny red pin pricks. Now I am thinking about it, I'm not sure if his face goes like this (esp the forehead thing) if he cries during the day. I'm not sure if it happens all the time at night when he wakes up either (useless I am)! But it has happened many many times. I didn't used to think much of it (it goes away as soon as he's calmed down). But tonight he woke up upset (seemed to be teeth) and I noticed his face was really red and the red blotchiness on his forehead seemed more obvious than the last time I can remember. But as soon as he calmed down the redness in his face went away.

However I noticed at the top of his chest very red marks (not red all over) and so opened his pyjamas and there were more red marks on his upper chest. I have seen very slight blotchiness/tiny red areas on his upper chest lots of times and assume it's from reflux, but haven't been sure if it's just from him pressing that area/pulling at the skin (i.e. have wondered if it would be there regardless if he was pressing there or not). But any redness there has always been barely noticeable.
But tonight these were bright red marks and I initially thought he had had an allergic reaction to something (but I couldn't figure out what).
I gave him Pamol and he had calmed down by this stage anyway (so the redness in his face had gone), he had been up about 7 mins but the redness on his upper chest was still there.
He woke again about 30 mins later upset again & asking for Bonjela (he was ok when I put it on). I checked his chest and the redness had gone.

Has anyone else experienced any of this?
Maybe the redness on his face and blotchy red forehead happens to lots of kids when they're upset (not just reflux kids) but it was just very obvious tonight and also I have never seen his chest that red before - as I said it was like he had had an allergic reaction (but it can't have been as it went away).
