10 days without ANY Losec and he's FINE!!!!
I can't believe it but it seems like we might actually have outgrown this terrible reflux monster! I've been too scared to post before now unless I jinx things, but he's so good and it's been ten days now.
We didn't even wean - our new paed suggested stopping altogether so we took the plunge, upped his probiotics and did it! Oh I'm so happy I can't even describe it!
19months of going to hell and back but we're hoping that this means we are truely out the other end. Oh can't stop rambling now!

Niki, that is such awesome news. I am so happy for you (& your wee man)!! Can I ask, why did your paed suggest going off the Losec? Was William no longer showing any signs of reflux? Had you made any changes to his diet, or was he just on Losec and that's it? What probiotics are you using and how do you know how much to give? Oh, & what dose (losec) was he on before? Oh (sorry I keep on thinking of more questions!), do you restrict ANY foods now (like what about the typical problem foods for reflux e.g. tomatoes, chocolate..)?
I hope you are going to celebrate this wonderful news!!

Hi MissMuffit
We had tried weaning William a few times just because of his age and he was really settled on his losec for quite a while now, but every time we decreased it he seemed unsettled. Not sure why he suggested stopping instead of weaning.
He was on 20mg of losec in the morning and had been since he was about 5months old. No other meds - only probiotics.
We use Primadophulus for Kids by Natures Way and I swear by it! We have doubled the dose for the next wee while until he finishes this pot and then we'll try and get rid of that too.
We don't restrict any food for him, except really fatty things like fish and chips. We found he would react badly and be incredibly grumpy after having them for a day or so, but other than that he has a normal diet.

Wonderful news!!!Nicky YOU survived the reflux monster too good on you .Well done William!!! You must be sooooooo releived. Heres hoping our day will come.
Niki that's just awesome news. Fingers and toes are crossed for you things will continue to go well but after 10 days you would have to say that this is more than just a good phase! It is such a relief to know that one day our wee people will be off Losec!
