Cant believe it..........today is the first day in months and months that Caitlin has not screamed in pain at somestage!!!
What a different house it has been!
By accident I gave her 20mg of Losec this morning with her Motilium instead of 10mg in morning and 20mg at night. Will go back to 10mg tomorrow morning and see if there is any change.

She has been laughing....playing happily with her brother and toys. Its like we have a different child.

L-O-N-G may it last!!!!

So you gave her 20mg morning and 10mg at night? Or 40mg all up? I would check with the paed and stick with the good thing if it worked!

Ahhh, so nice though isn't it?

Oh yay for you. I give the bigger dose in the morning and the smaller dose at night so maybe you are on to something.

We always found that Will needed a bigger dose in the morning too.

Fingers crossed!

Sunday Caitlin ended up with 40mg total of losec.......and a total dream!!!
Today I gave her 10mg this morning and was going to give her 20mg tonight, but since mid morning she is back to sticking her hands in her mouth and pulling at her throat.
Looks like we need the higher dose in the morning, so will change to that tomorrow.
Mentioned her dose increase to our GP today and he is concerned about side effects.....have not noticed anything bad....just positive!!
Will discuss it all with our paed at the start of decemeber when we see him next.

LOL - our GP flips out over the dose of Losec too but the Paed's/specialist's are obviously OK with it ... not ideal for the rest of her life but it's going to get her through this stage then all good; and I must say I agree with the paed/spec people.

Poor Caitlin, it's horrible to see them like that eh? Our Katey sticks her hands down her throat too or shoves her teddy in there and bites him really hard when she is having a bad phase.

Gave Caitlin 20mg of losec last night.......and she only woke ONCE!!!!! (I almost feel human today!!) I was only meant to give her 10mg as was going to give 20mg in the morning....will give 10mg tonight and see what happens.

Gave her 20mg this morning and she has been laughing, all smiles and a total delight!! She has now been asleep for 2.5 hours (and her afternoon sleeps have only been about 40mins as she has been waking screaming)....so the increase is definately providing her with relief.

If our night tonight is not so flash with a 10mg dose,
I may just give 20 morning and night until we see the paed in 2 weeks, as we have Alex having more surgery next week and it would be much easier for everyone if Caitlin was comfortable and not screaming at everyone!!

How is the Losec going now with Caitlin? Good luck for the surgery next week too.
