Hello again ive decided that the suspension ain't going to make any diff if i can't get it down & it feels things are getting worse not better, Im going to ring gp in morning and get her to perscribe granules.... or if she can't ring hospital and get paed to as we were only there yesterday...

When you guys say to give with pears 1/2 teaspoon... do you need to crush granules????? do babys at 10 weeks swollow easy enough to get it down??? And when you say fruit juice what do you mean by that? what kind etc??? and how is it given.

Sorry about the constant questions! Im not coping at the moment and it jsut breaks my heart to see my little man suffering so much.

Thanks for everyones time etc

Kells

Hey kells, You don't crush the grandules , they must be swallowed! I used the juice tonight, just a fruit juice we had in fridge(all I had at late notice to get to supermarket) and I used a med spoon and gradually let Charlotte drink it. It worked well and occasionally just scooping up the odd gradule and putting it back in. LOL!
The pears like someone suggested in my post I think, you could put a wee bit on your finger and put it in their mouth or simialar to what I did today, use a wee spoon and do it that way. I would say you dr could make that change for you as I know when I had been to ped for my son and needed things changed the gp did it because they already had received a letter from the ped.
Kells and the only way to help and learn is toask lots of questions...hey I have dealt wih reflux for 4.5 years and I am still asking away .

Buy a jar of pureed pears and put a tiny bit on a spoon (baby feeding spoons are nice a small for their little mouths) then pour the granules onto the [ears and they will just stick there. Then just pop it in the mouth. They seem to take it fine. You need to stay happy and cheerful cos you know they can pick up on stress sometimes maybe sing a wee song to distract or even do it near a window so they are distracted by the light. i think you will find it alot easier than the suspension

You can freeze the pear in little lumps in an ice cube container and just thaw as needed. One jar will last for ages...
Best of luck and keep asking questions. It makes me feel great to know that I might be able to help.

Claire

My gp changed the perscription for me no trouble.

Have you tried the suspension in some expressed BM or formula. After squirting down prior to feed and having a few coughing issues my little man is now slurping it down in 50mls of milk
