There seems to always be weddings and anniversaries on at this time of year (Congrats to these people!!).

Sept 17th 1999, it was a Friday and a lovely sunny day

March 26th. Beautiful autumn day. 3.30pm. Not too hot. Magic.

I see to date 20% of those that have voted were married in March. The weather seems to be fairly settled and reliable by then.

We were trying for March 27th as it would have been DH's Grandies 59th wedding anniversary, but Saturday was a better day to get hitched than a Sunday for the majority of guests who had to travel back home.

Glad we honoured them though, as DH's Grandma passed before their 60th. It was wonderful they both got to see their Grandson married

Nov 27 here. We thought we'd be "stormed" out but the next day was a pearler.

February.

It was going to be November 05 but we decided that was too far away, so thought about November 04 but decided that was too close (discussed dates in about July/Aug) and Mum said too many other stuff in that month so we randomly selected the first Sat in Feb 2005. Turns out it would have been FIL mum's birthday (deceased).

We got married same day and year as Astro. From memory I think it was overcast and was a couple of random rain drops but I still managed to get sunburnt!

we were 01/03/03 there was a light shower in the morning, then the sun broke through and it was a gorgeous afternoon, we actually got a bit sunburned lol.

OMG, what a dick, I put December. That's my birth month. I am a tool, it was feb Jan of course!

So Jan 10th, 2004, stunning weather.

28th December. We had just returned from living in the UK and most of our friends were coming home for the holidays so it worked out well. We had such a wicked time as most of our friends weren't working so we just carried on partying well into the new year! It also happens to be my brothers birthday.

A few years later he returned the favour and got married on my birthday in March

DH's brother was getting married, and their sister was coming over from Oz for the wedding.
BIL & SIL were postponing their honeymoon for a month, so I joked to DH we should get married the week after his brother, so that their sister could be there for both.

He said OK, and that was how we got engaged

Ours was 27 August. A winter wedding. The night before our wedding it rained and rained and was windy as hell and I didn't sleep a wink, and the actual day was similar in morning but it fined up by 3pm which was the time of our ceremony.

My BFF got married on Feb 29 four years ago, she is very excited to be finally about to have her first anniversary

november, here, and it threatened rain all day, the following day was stellar tho - always the way convenience, i didn't want to do it in dec (too many christmas parties to work around) and my brother got married in jan, and i didn't want to wait til feb which was our next available month, oct was too wintery for me.

November 1997. 15 year anniversary this year and Trying To get Alf to agree to getting married again in Las Vegas when we go in 16 days is proving futile. He thinks it's lame and I think it would be fun. Who is right?

October '95 here. My brother got married in March, and it was super. Weather threatened a bit, but it didn't rain (outdoor ceremony) and it was one of the best weddings I've ever been to.

13/12/07 here, it was a freezing cold rainy southerly day in Dunedin and all my poor rellies from Northland froze!

We were 27th Nov too What year was it? Ours was 2004. Rainy on and off all day but luckily off for the ceremony and photos lol!

We were down in Dunedin for a wedding in January and your city put on the same type of weather for us! brrrr

DH and I always wanted to go to Vegas for our 10th anniversary and get married by Elvis. It didn't happen due to the arrival in our family earlier in the year though... maybe we'll save it for our 15th or 20th

10/11/07 for us. It was a great day weather-wise, slightly overcast, not too hot or cold.

14/02/04 for us.

Was the start of the 100yr storm here in Wanganui, day started really awful then the sun shone and then it rained all night. Completely damaged the marquee that we hired.

05/03/05 for us.....hoped the date would help me remember it. Well of course i remember it but you know what i mean. Beautiful Hawkes Bay day - just fantastic! Wouldn't change a thing!

We were 05/02/05.....I could never remember the year until DH goes 525 so now I just remember that

May 15th 2004 here. The day before our venue was flooded and it was a horrible, horrible day. Woke up the next day and it was a stunning day.

12/2/2000 - Anniversary on Sunday. Can't afford to do anything and never really have made a big thing about anniversaries - for us it just seems like another day. Been together since 1993, though. DH was just muttering about making a marrow cake to celebrate our anniversary as he forgot to pick the last lot of courgettes before they grew too big.

Weather on our day: drizzled in the morning. My mum woke me up to say it was all my fault that it was raining as we were getting married outside and didn't have an alternate venue lined up. But by the time of the ceremony, it was lovely weather. Great day - although DDs don't recognise us in our wedding photos . Just shows how 12 years and 2DDs can age you.

I think getting re-married/re-newing your vows in Las Vegas would be wayyyyyy cool!

I know DH wants to renew our vows but 10years doesn't seem long enough. I think Las Vegas for 20years would be AMAZING! And making it a family holiday with our girls would be even better (though would need to take a trusted person to mind the girls while we gamble our lives away)

We got married in May 2006.
We went to Rarotonga and flights and accommodation were cheaper due to people not generally holidaying at this time of the year.
The weather was lovely and we had a great time.

December 27th 1999 - timed to suit all the family...turned out to be an ar$e time of the year - but great day none the less....sunny and fine.... crap time for anniversary however as we are hardly together at that time...that will explain lack of anniversary pressies i guess LOL

We were married at the beach, in February, 13 years ago. A cyclone played way out, which we managed to get the tailend of. Thankfully, we got through the outdoor ceremony and photos before the heavens really opened. Auspiciously, the cyclone was named after my dear grandfather, who'd died two years earlier. I like to think he was holding the rain at bay!

We got married 31st March 2001. Beautiful autumn day, not too hot but warm enough to be comfortable. We chose it mainly because we could get the photographer and the venue on that day It was just after the clocks turned, like the week after so it probably wasn't as popular a date as Feb.

I'm not sure about renewing vows, in a way, vows are something that you only need to say once. But I'd be keen to have maybe a big party or celebration at some point, 20 years? 25 years?

And I think at our 15 year anniversary we can go away by ourselves somewhere romantic.

The sun did shine though and it was a beautifully crisp winter's day.

We are celebrating our 12th anniversary this month by going away for a dirty, I mean romantic night at the Stamford Plaza

31st August 07, last day of winter and it was such a beautiful day. Kezza, totally do the Vegas Wedding, that would be a blast! Id surprise Alf and just take him out for dinner but swing past their first lol

15 February 2003 - scorching hot Palmy day. On reflection it was the DUMBEST date to get married because everything was still fricken expensive because of Valentines Day But the 15th was significant for us because DH proposed on that date, and February because it was the month of the best weather

We got married on the 21st June 2003 - Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. Was fantastic as we planned a winter wedding (complete with me having an organza coat with soft fluffy 'fur' trim all the way around incl. the train.
As it turned out it was a beautiful crisp winter's day - much better weather than a lot of the summer weddings we've been to, so we were stoked :-) was really fun to plan a winter wedding - red roses, candlelight, fire burning etc - awesome :-)

See, I reckon vows are something that should be repeated, reminded and expanded upon as you grow as a couple.

We never wrote our own vows (just had far too much going on to find the time to think about it, as we'd just returned from living overseas) so I'd love to have the opportunity to write our own. Of course I could just do this anyway and say them to him but hey it would be far more fun in front of Elvis!

13 October 2001 - like many it was a shocking day the day prior, venue was flooded and looked a mess (got married at government gardens here in Rotorua). But got up the next day and it was beautiful. The council had been down and cleaned up venue, looked fantastic. Best $50 I ever spent, lol!

ETA: we wanted October because we thought it might give some of my overseas family time to save for the trip (they didn't come anyway), but after we chose the date we realized it was the date my dad was buried 4 years earlier!

20th December 2008 - typical Taranaki weather, I woke up that morning and it was P*SSING down! But the weather broke for the ceremony and photos, yay! Flew to the UK the next day for our honeymoon, was awesome

You know the majority of chapels in Las Vegas are STUNNING and people get married in them everyday... its just a few that are what we see on TV!
