Does anyone here store wraps in the fridge? Do they go dry and brittle? Any brands better than others?

We have a big problem with humidity in our house so things like wraps tend to go mouldy fairly quickly. Freezing doesn't seem to work very well as they go crumbly, split or get freezer burn. Thought maybe the fridge would work ok but I don't want to try it if it will make them go yuck!

Pretty exciting thread for a Tuesday night huh wink

Yup always keep ours in the fridge. They stay fine once open as long as i have folded the top over. I just buy the home brand ones.

Ours never normally last long enough to store anywhere other than the pantry, especially in summer!

I have been keeping them once opened in a tupperware container in the pantry, and they have kept just fine there for up to a month.

That said though, our house in very warm and extremely dry.

Great tip - will keep them in the fridge from now on yes

Camom - I'm the only one who eats them and I'd only have 1 a day so it needs to last me a week.

I freeze them initially (they stay much fresher than if I don't), then leave them out but with a clip-lock on the top. Like others have said they don't have to last long out at our place though, just a couple of days, as the kids love them instead of sandwiches in their school lunches.

Entirely depends on the brand. I find most you have to keep in the fridge but Farrahs Wraps you can keep in the pantry, but are meant to use within 5 days of opening.

We keep them in the fridge if we are using them quickly, or in the freezer and just take out what we need as we need them, if they wont be used up within a week or so.

I get the ones from the vege shop on Greville Road (sorry can't remember the brand) and they last for ages in the fridge. They're big packets though, so may be too big for what you want.

Also the Farrah wraps when I can get them (depends where I'm shopping) last for ages in the fridge too.
