Harry is having a bowel motion 4-5 times a day, has anyone else had a child go this regularly.

Hes not constipated, their is a reasonable amount but not huge, but ohh my word, I wish he would just gone once or twice a day. Its a lot of bum changing in the day:) And if we are really busy for 10 mins and I don't notice the poo makes his wee bum sore, so I have to pretty much drop everything as soon as a smell it.

Any tips to try and get him going a few less times? He has plenty of water, is it a habbit thing? diet thing? or just quantity of whats going in has to come out?

Is it normal poo? Not sandy coloured, loose, fluffy or frothy.. serious question lol.

If it's normal poo then maybe some more fibre and have a look at how much fruit he's having? But that's only a guess.

If it's suspicious poo I would do a food diary and note what he's eaten and when he pooed + what the poo was like. Also any other symptoms like eczema, snotty nose, or a rash.

DD1 was like this right up until she was about a year old. Then it went down to about 3-4 a day up until she was about 3. That was a whole lot of nappies! Now at 4 years, she averages 1 per day. By contrast DD2, who is breastfed and eating the same diet as DD1 did, goes once a day if I'm lucky or every other day. These kids, they're all different. Hopefully this stage will pass quickly for your little person!!

Pretty normal poo pudding, the only thing would be the amount, not small but not significant either. It's like he's learning to do lots if medium poos rather than a few bigger ones.

I might try getting him on some kiwi fruit this week. I'm now exactly sure when it started but this week in particular I've noticed the amount I'm changing him.

Thanks, I hope it gets better. It's doesn't sem to be good for his skin either. Until now he's never had nappy rash really

I would be concerned even if it is normal because it is burning his bottom. It might be an intolerance to some new food, has he started eating anything new?? Has he just started eating Gluten??? Has he been on AB's you could try a probiotic to see if that helps

Vicky you might of hit the nail on the head. Thanks!! I've just finished a long course of antibiotics for tonsillitis and eat infection. He's still breastfeed 3-4 tunes a day so it's pro ably upsetting his tum. I should of connected the two.

Can you get probiotics for 1 year olds.

Oh gosh yes, ABs are havoc! They make them poo a lot and you have to change it right away otherwise it burns. It stinks, too. Even worse if THEY are the ones on the ABs!

(Dd had Ceclor at around 5mo, and it was dire, lol!)

Definitely could be the AB's.

I'd avoid kiwifruit as that always made my kids go more and you probably want to avoid that ATM! DD2 ate two kiwifruit recently and, well, yes, there was A LOT of poo giggle

And the funny smell when they are on AB's, kind of sulfuric.

Do you have a good cream you could coat his bottom in? Zinc and castor oil or something? It might help the burning a bit?
