Awww Tracy that sounds really painful I hope it eases up for you - what a bout a dose of panadol before bed? I am not a big panadol taker but in pg if it can relieve some pain why not...

Its painfull if it goes completely numb and not un-numbed for a while due to being asleep. But now that I have the wrist brace as least it doesn't go numb but still have the aching. especially in the thumb.

Long weekend coming up for Wellington! Yay.

Was just reading through the beginning of this thread, there were heaps of us before, I sure hope the others who haven't posted for a while are alright with their pregnancies, god forbid frown
Or maybe they have moved to April thread.

Pregnancy really isn't bliss. No-one tells you about all the aches and pains, diabetes etc etc. I do envy the ladies who have blissful pregnancies. Having said that, I am still so grateful I got there in the end as I thought it would NEVER happen for me! So I try not to grumble.

My iron is a bit low apparently. I feel OK now I am not working but I guess my tolerance of anything physical has been very poor since before christmas. Trying to boost it the natural way with food and stuff.

Had our first antenatal class last night which was interesting. I can't believe how close its getting now eek I have a nice little collection of clothes and stuff from various gifts and my work baby shower. I am also getting a good 3 wheeler with pod (is that what its called?) and easy car clip frame thingy for $120 off my neighbour, and they are lending us there bassinet.

Just had a very blissful day with my mum for her 60th. Went and had a massage and facial followed by lunch and beach. Tomorrow I am having a pedicure for a hen do. Maternity leave is great! love2

Hope you are all well, despite the aches and diabetes?

BBake yay for facials and massages and pedicures they are very heavenly esp when you become large.....

My first day back in a month at work and we measured me, I am massive lol a full filing cabinet length around my middle...

Diabetes is OK I guess, my fasting bloods are still way to high so am increasing insulin units as we go. Had a scan whilst I was hospitalised and am measuring big but no suprise there.

Hope you are all ok

How wide is a filing cabinet?

Has a midwife appointment today with the back up midwife as mine is on holiday. She said it's feeling like a big one, at least 8 pounds. But I thought that was average these days?

Will be booking in for a scan next week as last scan had my placenta low. So will find out if it still is or if it's too close to the cervix to deliver naturally. Apparently if its completely over the cervix I'd know about it by now as you can bleed a lot and then you would need to be hospitilised and have a c-section around 35 weeks!

Hand seems to be getting worse during the day when it is always in a state of numbness to some degree. Can really notice when typing, carrying things, writing etc. I've taken to using my computer mouse in the left hand so I can dangle my right hand by my side most of the time. arrggh 6 more weeks of work to put up with.

Oh you poor thing Tracy. Gosh you are working til really late! I'd be tempted to take sick leave before maternity if I were you. I read somewhere that you should be entitled to extra sick leave for pregnancy related problems?

I half feel guilty finishing work so early but I know I would be a mess if I was still trying to work. Got lots of Coccyx pain now and my nerve pain is rearing its ugly head again, this time in my right thigh.

MY DH got a job excited Its part time at a school in south Auckland so unfortunately lots of driving from the West but its a job! It will be his first year teaching so lots of hard work and stress in store. It was all very sudden and he has gone from being my wonderfully supportive and positive DH to sleepless and stressed out and not here in the space of 48hrs sigh It has to be done though and we are both very relieved.

How are things with you Kel, nearly finished work yet?

How did you go Kel?

Went to go see this place called Well hand and they assessed it as classic calpal tunnel. Not much can be done apart from injections fo some sort or surgery. but wouldnt want to do eitehr if it's going to go away after pregnancy.

They gave me a proper brace for my wrist and I can even tell it's helping with computer work. I still have the end of my fingers numb but not as bad. So hopefully will help even better at night time.

I have a scan next Tuesday to check the level of the Placenta as it was low in the 20 week scan. yay get to see baby again.

Glad yoi have found something that is helping with the Carpal tunnel Tracy. Heres hoping that our aches and pains resolve really quickly after we give birth as I don't think our babies are going to care much either way!

So does it feel exciting to know pretty much when you are going to give birth Kel? I can't remember if you said you went through normal labor with your others?

Saw my midwife yesterday and she said I am measuring at 32wks size, not 36. So I have to have a growth scan next week. I have been getting a lot of comments from people 'Oh your quite small' etc. Its starting to really piss me off actually. People think that just because they have had a couple of babies therefore they know everything. Its not as if all women and pregnancies are the same and we are all completely different shapes and sizes. I just think she is well hidden in my long waist, back and pelvis. I think its really insensitive to make such comments and I am starting feel a little inadequate (hormones probably). Someone may well catch me in a bad mood one day so they better watch out angrywife

So will b fun to see the baby again too. Hope she is OK in there unsure

Oh you poor thing BB! I’m getting the opposite. I’m thinking I’m quite small and people get way bigger than me and I get comments like “oh are you sure you are not having twins?” WTF??

I just had a scan to check the level of the placenta, all good in that area, it’s moved. They have also taken measurements that apparently midwife can plot on a graph and guess the size of the baby. Could hardly make out the baby apart from say a head or a bit of a leg, at this size there’s obviously no room and he’s all squished up. And apparently he was in a difficult position to see stuff anyway. Also re confirmed that it was a boy!

I actually had a spat at someone at work the other day. It was from a team mate who ALWAYS comments on how long I take to make my lunch (in a joking way) but when it’s everyday it’s the same joke it kinda gets a bit irritating, and I feel like saying get some new jokes, you sound like a stuck record!! Anyway this particular time he makes the same comment and I say quite loudly “well I do have numb hands at the moment so if you’ll excuse me I’ll take all the damned time in the world”. Kinda feel bad but I’m sure he’s the type of guy who can take it on the chin. LOL! crazy

Good for you Tracy. Sometimes people don't realise and need to be told! Thats good that the placenta has moved. I suppose they are too big to be seen in full with US probe. I imagine they will only be able to arse with mine as hers just seems to permanently circle the center of my belly bum

Its got to the point now where me and the DH can't really sleep in the same bed. I am so conscious of disturbing him in bed which makes me want to fidget more and then I can't sleep. Then when I do fall asleep my snoring keeps him awake.

Are any of you having your Mum at the birth? My Mum says she is happy to do whatever I want but I think that she secretly wants to (and thinks she should) be there. I don't think I want her to be there, and my DH certainly does not want her there. She is a very supportive person but when she decides that she has worked out a problem or situation she makes a bee line for it and wont let it go. So it can get a bit annoying.

Ante natal class tonight and we are going to be watching videos of births. I am particularly keen on having a water birth, what with all my back pain etc. There is no-way I will be able to endure lying on my back to give birth thats for sure!

BB I will not and have never had anyone other than my DH with me. Its my body and other than DH and the MW or OB no one else needs to witness me in all my vocal glory + my VJJ is mine and I certainly do NOT want my mother or MIL down there getting a geez in or taking pictures....if I wanna see it or get commentary I will ask for a mirror lol. Just me as I dont think I could handle anyone else telling me what to do. DH doesnt he just supports.

SS next wednesday I am so super excited this baby can come anytime after sunday. Lots of niggles so I am hoping to be a little dialated by wed.

Tracy good on you for speaking up that would pee me off tbh, and you are well within your rights to tell him to shut up. Hope it helps....How are the wrist guardy things going?

I sleep with so many pillows theres 3 in the bed lol....

You're so funny Kel! Yes Hell no to having my mum there too, it would only be becuase I felt obliged to not cos I really wanted her there. DH would prob feel a bit pushed out (excuse the pun!). and DOUBLE HELL NO to the MIL!!! No fricken way. If she is not there for her own daughters births then no way she is being at mine, Her daughters have had 8 kids between them.

and may as well add TRIPLE HELL NO to my sister who is lesbian and not talking to me anyway.

So the consensus on Mum is a NO then. I do agree! I don't think mum realises how bossy she can be. She just gets these ideas in her head and will not let them go! Not what you need when you are in labor!

Yeah I have got the pillow thing going on too. Its better when the DH isn't there (unfortunately) cos I can line them up on either side of me and then don't have to drag them with me every time I turn over.

Is SS the the stretch and sweep Kel? How exciting. Are they hoping to just induce labor like that or do you have to have induction drugs? jumping Exciting!

I watched the birth videos at ante natal the other night. I was in a hyper sensitive mood and wanted to cry when I watched the normal birth an a bed. Not sure if it was the angle of the camera that made it all look so horrific. I think I am actually quite scared! afraid Anyway, I DEFINITELY want a water birth. There is no way I will be able to lie on my back with all my pelvic problems.

Got really annoyed in KMart today. I was all ready to buy my maternity bras and they don't flippin make them in a 10DD?? WTF Every other size has a double D? Sorry but the 12 is all ready on the tightest hook so once the baby comes I will be swimming in it. And the D cup does not fit! So bloody stupid! Any other super cheap places to buy them? There is no point spending a lot of money cos they won't be used for that long.

BB you dont have to lie on a bed to give birth I was squat/kneeling with my DP holding my hands on the opposite side of the bed, this is a good position to open up your pelvis nice and wide. You can variate by kneeling on bed with the end up and leaning over the raised end. With DD I didnt give a Shyte when I got to hospy she was crowning so just lay back and pushed her out. After seeing the birth videos with DD I was the same - didnt want a c or natural lol.

Yip SS is stretch and sweep and we are hoping that it may kick start things for me if not we discuss induction dates on Wed any way. With DS I was meant to be induced but they only had to do an ARM (artificial rupture of membranes). Hope the ss works so badly. I would like a portion of my patience back lol

DS birthday tomorrow and I have almost fin his lightening mcquuen cake he comes out and says but mummy you didnt do mater...

How is everyone doing? You had your S&S Kel?

I wish I knew what these brackston hicks felt like. I have had the odd mild period low down cramp, mostly at night. Could that be it?

My main annoyance at the moment is waking up at 4.30am nearly every bloody night, takes at least 2hrs before I sleep again! Its kind of ruining my maternity leave as I am grumpy and feel like shit because of it. So much for resting before the baby comes! Its causing tears at least once a day too bawling Very boring really.
My nerve pain is being a bitch again too. How is your arm Tracy? Are you still at work?

I had a growth scan the other day. She is measuring a few weeks behind but everything else appears normal. So I will just have a small baby I guess, better for birthing at least and then I will feed her up good and proper on the outside. It does make you question why though? Mind you, me and the DH were small when born and both very slim now. I havn't put on weight anywhere else during pregnancy. Mind you I am still 11kg heavier now which I believe is right on target?

Hope you are all feeling OK. wave

BB small babies arent necessarily easier to birth, tbh my 2 have both been big and natural with no pain relief at all - they say big babies compress more nerves. IMO its also the head size that causes the pain not the baby itself as its the head that comes out first and stretches everything my 2 have been little heds 36cm a friend had a crap load of stitches with her 7lb baby with a 42cm head.....dont mean to scare you but big babies arent bad.

Had my sweep was 2-3cm dialted and favourable but jack all has happened here.......gutted. Baby keeps compressing a nerve in my rhs and it hurts and other than waking every hour due to pain or feeling sick its all good - could really do with a decent sleep though....such a dreamer I am lol

Hope you guys are okk though other than general uncomfort of the last tri???

Heading to aquanatal aerobics tonight to see if I can get this girl out lol
