Hey lilsorrow - cute pic of your wee munchkin. Glad your scan went well. Hello to all the new mums to be on here. Hope everyone and all bubs are well. Exciting that we have twins in our group I'm starting to think I need to get my a into g. I'm 23 weeks tomorrow. Think I better start renovating the babys room. Heaps to do on it - ie rip down walls and regib etc. Oh well I'll add it to the list. My friend asked me the other day if she can organise a baby shower for me and I was like no you don't have one for the 2nd bubs I've already had one and she has been very persistent and saying that you can have more than one baby shower. What are your guys thoughts? Are you having/had one 2nd time round?

Hi all Glad everyones scans are going well, cute scan pic lil sorrow. We had a scan on Friday, they are 90% sure for a girl , which is exciting, but there is still those 10% odds that they are wrong. I have to go back in 2 weeks as baby wasn't that co-operative so couldn't get lower half of spine and kidneys were slightly enlarged so they want to recheck that. Haven't had anything like that with the other 2 so this is new territory and I don't like it. 2spotties, if you have a friend that wants to arrange it and you aren't opposed to the idea just do it. I never had one at all and now kind of wish that I had. And it is still a celebration of a new baby whether it is first or second.

Hey everyone.
Lilsorrow - that pic is great - so clear!
2Swift - I'm sure everything will be fine - at least they want to check things out. Friends of mine are 36 weeks and had a scan last week to find that baby was small and probably malnourished (not sure why). So she's going to be induced at 38 weeks we think - at least it's good to have the scans and know that things can be done to ensure baby is ok.
2spotties - I always thought baby showers were for first time babies as it was a chance for your mates to stock up on things you didn't have - but hey - if you want to go with it, do!
Tarns - you are sounding a bit more relaxed nowadays. Are you still a bit tired? I find myself falling asleep at like 7.3opm on the couch - for about 10 minutes - so bizarre.
Looking forward to my scan this week. T

girls 2swift - ditto what Tee said chick and its good that they are keeping an eye on things Tee - is your scan this Friday?? waiting....waiting....waiting..... Yep, I am alot more relaxed now as I can feel her moving around so that is giving me a huge amount of peace of mind. We still havent bought anything though... but that is due to me saying at the start that I wouldnt buy anything til after 24 weeks so i am kinda sticking to it.....like it has turned into my own superstition or something.....weird aye, I know.. and as for tiredness....... I still am.....I'm normally in bed by 9.30 at the latest otherwise I just feel sick again, seems to be the more tired I get the more my ms starts to come back I work 45 hour weeks (on my feet on the go too) and work is starting to become abit of a mission.....especally at around 3 each day I seem to go down hill, but not complaing...it's just the way it is....if I am really knackered I just ring in sick, bubs is abit more important at the mo than work and I must admit they have been awesome Anyway best be moving, am off to see the midwife this morning so I can quiz her about my placenta and see what they are going to do/monitor Have a lovely day everyone

Hi everyone,
Great to hear about your scans, lilsorrow, tarns and 2swift! 2swift I hope the next scan goes ok and hopefully brings you some peace of mind.
nztee - I also have a scan on Friday. I wish it was sooner! Looks like our due dates are pretty close together :-)
And hooray for twins, Miss Tuffit!
I think I'm feeling some movement now, but it's hard to be sure. Roll on Friday ...

Hi there! Im doing well. Midwife is trying to swing an appointment with a particular obstetrician whom will hopefully share my philosophies on birthing. Fingers crossed. I want a medical opinion, but I don't want to be treated as if I am a ticking bomb. And I thought I was such a veteran at this all now spanner in the works and then some! I feel like Im a newbie all over again. My belly is getting all wriggly. Feeling our wee man wriggling more often now, which is really nice as I could only really feel our wee woman initially, so I feel more bonded to her. It is really helping me get my head around the double joy, getting to know my wee fella. Tarns, the tiredness is pretty hard eh? Make sure you do rest up plenty whilst you can.

for you Miss_Tuffit you get to go with your plan. I guess with twins you wouldn't have too many birthing options. My BF has twins for her first pregnancy - she had a wee boy and girl. She had a few health issues (not realted to the pregnancy) so they had to book her for a c-section but that was at 37 weeks and she had two big healthy babies. Good luck to the mums having their scans today. Hope all is well. I had another scan yesterday. Bubs is good - very active. I got exposed to a cat at work (I'm a vet nurse) with Toxoplasmosis so they just wanted to make sure bubs wasn't affected, also gave them a chance to check on my placenta. It's moved sligthly but it's still low lying. Hope you all have a lovely long weekend. We are spending it stripping wall paper in the babys room.

Hi everyone,
Shredder (love your name, lol)... we are only a day apart! I reckon I might be induced early tho cos of my extensive age...
Tarns - yes the scan is tomorrow - 9am. Fingers crossed it goes well. Good luck for yours Shredder.
2spotties - glad your scan went ok - and Miss Tuffit - hope you get the doc you want. Sometimes you have to be stroppy about what you want ah? I had to give my midwife the hard word about weighing and measuring me every visit. I am a big gal - always have been - but they treat you really different because of it. When I first got weighed I said 'oh I've put on 4 kgs' since the IVF. "Right" said the midwife "you had better not put on any more." WTF??? Suddenly I am not supposed to put on weight with a growing baby! Anyway, so I read her the riot act at my last visit and said I wouldn't be weighed every visit as there was a 'hysteria' about weight and I wouldn't buy into it. She's scared of me now - poor thing.
Cheers Tee

Hi everyone,
It's a boy! He's looking pretty good in there, he's got all the bits he needs and is growing at a good rate. He's right on target for my due date of 21 June... so happy about that.
I haven't even thought of boys names - as I was really expecting a girl - thinking up a good name will keep me occupied for months.
Shredder - how did your scan go?
Cheers Tee

Congratulations Tee!!! Fantastic news! Popped on to see if there were any new results from todays scans. Miss Tuffit hows things going? Progressing well? Over the shock? Tarns a girl for you. How exciting, all these babies! We had our scan last week. A very special moment with all three of my children also present to see they had a baby Brother coming! DP has still not come down from cloud 9!!! Hes thrilled after 2 girls himself. Baby measuring small. At 20 weeks is measuring 17+4. But considering how hard things have been over the last few months no one is at all surprised. hes growing well, and everything looks healthy. Placenta has moved off cervix too, so that was great! And Im finally off all drugs and back working fulltime! yay!!!! we're on the downhill run now ladies

We had a second scan yesterday to 'get a proper look' at twin two. He appears to have malformation of the long bones in his arms. We are awaiting specialist consult with fetal medicine.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, Miss Tuffit, that sounds stressful Do you know when your specialist appointment is yet? Thinking of you Just came back from our scan and everything is all good. We didn't want to find out the sex and couldn't really see on the scan anyway, so that's good. I have a strong feeling I'm having a girl, though - will be interesting to see if I'm right! I am definitely feeling some kicks now which is really reassuring. Yay for your scan, Tee!

Girls Phew lots to catch up on Tee - yaye a boy chick whoop whoop...how exciting ....and you go girl about the weight thing too I found that really interesting cos I was talking to my midwife last week about the weight thing cos she hasnt even been checking my weight! I know I have put on 3 kilos now but she reckons that they dont really check weight anymore (as long as baby is growing as it should be, thats what is the most important thing)....so, go figure??!! Confusing aye....... Also if you dont mind me asking chick...how old are you?? My midwife said to me that due to my age they definately wont be letting me go over my due date.....gets too risky aye. Miss Tuffit - I hope your specialist appointment comes around quick and you get to know what exactly is going on Shredder - how did your scan go today..exciting..exciting DP has just come home with tea, so will be back after that to finsh up

yaye Shredder, awesome that is is good and it is really reassuring to feel bubs moving around aye Lilybunch - yaye a chick and its great that you going along better now. Good that your placenta has moved off your cervix too, you will be feeling better about that I should imagine 2spotties - good news that everything is well with bubs after being exposed to the cat....toxo can be quite bad cant it?? And its good that your placenta has moved slighty too, hopefully it just keeps moving up aye. Mine was sitting 2cm away from my cervix (so low too) and I only get another scan at 32 weeks apparantly to check on it.....midwife reckons that about 30-40% of women they see with low placed placentas in the 12 weeks scan around 70% of them have moved up by the 32 weeks, so that you, lilybunch and I are all one of the 70%'s

Hey everyone - thanks for the good wishes.
Miss Tuffit - I hope the doctor has some good things to say - my heart goes out to you.
Lilybunch - well done on the boy. I'm still a bit in denial as I was really expecting a girl.. I hope your gut is right Shredder! I based my feeling on my swollen ankles which I had with my daughter - but obviously I was less than scientific!
Tarns - thanks for your excitement. It is really cool to be having a boy. I've decided its good to have a boy because he's going to be calm and low maintenance, in contrast to my daughter who is gorgeous but high maintenance and ornery!! (Well she certainly knows her mind and it's generally opposite to whatever I say). I'm 43 - so got a couple years on you... it's interesting what your midwife says which is exactly the opposite of what mine said. I would believe yours I think.. I guess mine is just towing the party line with women who are big.. I'm on to her tho! Her and the entire maternity health care system (lol!!!!). I definitely think they won't let us go past our due dates - we are geriatric mothers after all!
Hi to everyone else. Tee
