I am using it at the moment to kick start my body as with PCOS & underactive thyroid it can be a hard road.
Would love to hear how someone else has found it :-)

My friend did it. TBH I was surprised she did because I thought she would have frowned on it, being a GP. But she did really well and has changed her lifestyle too, so managed to keep the weight off.
Just for your info, with PCOS the most important things you can do to promote weight loss: * exercise for 20 mins every day * eat protein at every meal and snack - so if you have an apple, have a couple of brazil nuts with it or a glass of trim milk * don't skip meals - aim to have 3 decent sized meals, plus 2 snacks a day, all with some protein * cut out processed sugars as much as you can - they are not your friend if you have PCOS, so try to not have something really sugary more than twice a week
I have no idea how much protein and sugar are in the optifast things - have a read.
I have PCOS and totally swear by the PCOS dietbook by Colette Harris and Dr someone. I think its been republished with a slightly different name recently.

Hospitals put you on it for approx 3 weeks before weightloss surgery. Shrinks the stomach, reduces fatty liver etc which makes it easier for them to navigate in there!

Hi there
I can relate to you with the thyroid mines kept in the just overactive which for me has the affect of not wanting to eat as much as I should to keep my metabolism ..I definitely don't fuel the car so to speak.
When I did optifast alone for all the replacement meals and ate exactly what was stated on the menu plan, everything was great for the first week, but the second week totally different, but I do have IBS so that probably didn't help.I was getting absolute cramps throughout my stomach and felt very sickly and my doctor ordered me to stop it, but I still lost 4kgs in that one week. but I know a few others who have done it and it worked for them.
My Brother has tried it .Now he did it for like 2 months and only used his two sachets a day plus meal allowance and he went for daily walks and in that time lost well over 26kg.He didn't want to do the 3 a day cause he loves his food and wanted to have one normal meal within the limited food list to choose from, You don't have to exercise with the optifast as its quite a calorie reduction in itself and you may not feel up to it at first.
My brother works in the worst industry for losing weight...which is the fish and chip shop so even working in there he managed not to take the odd chip or fried food.
My girlfriend had it prior to her lapband she did find it very restrictive at the start she managed to do it properly for 4 weeks but was finding the menu boring , she managed to lose over the 12 weeks required on optifast about 30kg which was enough for her to have her surgery and shes looking absolutely great.
Just remember to read the information properly , it doesn't suit all people and I spose the biggest thing would be is listen to your body ..it indicates whether something is agreeing with you or not.
Hope this helps and wish you all the success on your optifast

Missy Moo - How are you doing? I have had 2 family members start the optifast program. One lost 3 kgs in 4 days and the other 2 kilos in the first week. I am considering starting it but im still unsure. Did you end up on the optifast program? How did you find it?

My dad is on it at the moment, hes been on it a few times in the past 9 years, and finds it really good, hes on the full program My mum is also on it for 2 meals a day.
The main thing is you HAVE to have 1 cup of veges/salad a day. You can make vege soup. No potato, pea's, corn, pumpkin, kumara etc.
Mum lost over 2kg in the first week, not sure about Dad, but he tend's to lose a lot. He has Diabete's so its easier for him to get it, or you have to go though your DR.
Its about $60-70 a box i think
I tried it once, but i have blood sugar issues if i don't eat enough, but i think i would like to do it for 1 meal a day and see if it makes a difference

Hey Sarah Does your dad find he puts the weight back on? I guess thats a concern i have with such drastic weight loss. You can buy all the food at some chemists and even online now so no issue there. It works because its such a low calorie intake though right? So if i could calorie count and only consume the same amount it should do the same job right?

Yea i think he does, hes a bit shocking with his diabete's.
But he does do well for about 6 months, i guess after that he really needs to maintain it, but never does.
Though hes never got back to where he was 9 years ago, so thats got to be a good thing
