DS2 is teething and the poor guy is having a rough time of it. He has a teething necklace and it worked a charm for DD but isn't cutting the mustard for him. Pamol isn't doing all it could be, so I am thinking of giving him something slightly stronger.

So now I need to figure out how much to give him without overdosing him. He is 10kg at 6 months (yep super squish ).

I have had a look at some websites and if I go by one of them I would be giving him 5ml, but that seems a little excessive. Is around 2.5-3ml okay?

try ringing healthline on 0800611116, they should be able to give you doseage, could also try a local chemist

Nurofen for under 1 should really be on medical advice.

That said - Daily dose for nurofen is 20mg/kg so 200mg for your boy - 10ml a day.

So you could give 3.3ml every 8 hours or 2.5ml every 6 hours.

Though have just looked at my nurofen bottle and it says 10mg/kg - 3-4 times a day! Just got some nurofen on script today and they stressed 20mg/kg a day!

Confusing huh!

I have a list my GP gave me and it says 10kg is 2.5 mls of Brufen if its a 100mg/5ml medication. 5mg/kg q6h which I take it to mean 6 hourly.
