Hi
I'm moving to Christchurch in Feb and wondered if anyone could recommend a good Ob/Gyn, preferably someone who's sympathetic to recurrent pregnancy loss and is proactive in treating Factor 5 leiden blood clotting deficiency?
I had such shocking medical treatment in Dunedin after my last miscarriage I vowed I wouldn't have any more kids if we stayed here. I'm still not sure if I'm strong enough to risk trying again, but would really love to get a second opinion from someone else before making a final decision. The doc I saw here refused to acknowledge my blood clotting problems, the fact it was my 3rd loss, or offer any strategies for another pregnancy. She would only consider it as a spontaneous single miscarriage because I'd had my daughter the previous pregnancy and wouldn't consider the previous 2 miscarriages at all. She didn't even see much need in taking aspirin (!) or needing an Ob, any old midwife would do. The only advice I got was to take no more than one month off and get onto it because of my age (42)

As if.
6 months on and I'm only just starting to consider the possibility of ttc, but there is no way I even start that journey unless I have a supportive doctor/midwife/Ob behind me 100%. Because of the age thing if I do go again, it will be my last shot and I want/need all the help I can get to make it work.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if you have to PM me or posting ok?
Thanks heaps
x
