just wondering what other ppls boys do? I mean I PERSONALLY wear underwear everyday so it grossess me out that my boys dont lol. I dont know why they dont...we seem to have tryd all the diff types, cotton boxers, satin boxers, sports boxers, jocks etc etc. have had some limited success with some soft cotton sports boxers that has a special slip your will bit out and pee without having to take pants off....but honestly even if i lay all their clothes out with undies on top....they wont put them on...so im having to wash shorts/pants everyday as they always smell like bum (yuucky). are other ppls boys the same? or what do they prefer to wear?
cheers

mine have been the same, for a couple of years mine would only wear undies on a wednesday as that was ballet day and he didn't want the girls to see his willy in the changing room (age 4 and 5) then once ballet stopped he stopped wearing them all together. His younger brother didn't wear any for a short while then only satin boxers. Now at ages 11 and nearly 10 they both wear cotton short boxers every day AND wear them under togs so we go thru 2 or 3 pairs a day now. DS#3 who is 6 rarely wears anything so i have to wash his shorts every day too DS#4 who is 3.5 just wears normal undies/boxers but often that is all so no shorts

DS wears undies every day. I must admit, not wearing undies grosses me out a bit and DS doesn't seem to have a problem with it. DS just has normal speedo style undies. He just pulls his shorts and undies down a fraction when he needs to wee.

My boys wear underwear everyday - they change it everyday. They wear the cotton stretchy type boy boxers (not the silky ones). And wear the silky boxers to bed as pjs.

I am often finding my wee man commando.... bought him some tight fitting cotton boxer ones which he seems to like as they are more grown up! I have started doing random undie checks on school days because of having to wash his uniform!

DS wears undies everyday. Both boxer and brief types. He doesnt wear them to bed though. I'd insist on him wearing them to school if he was the commando type though. On one of DS's school visits I got an eyeful from a little boy who wasn't wearing any, but had no discretion so was sitting on the mat lets apart showing the world his tackle. Not something I really wanted to see and I'm not sure the parents of girls would appreciate

I have started doing random undie checks on school days because of having to wash his uniform! lol i think im going to have to do the same - the school uniform is a pain as they only have 4 pairs of shorts btwn them so if there's a few rainy days..and bare bums in shorts its hard to get them all clean and dry in time lol DS#2 got a bit embarrassed they had a dress rehersal for their school play and guess what he didn't have on - lol - came home with a pair of pants to wash....and the next few weeks he wore undies religously....but back to commando 100% of the time now 'despite having some really nice really expensive underwear' gah.

LOL, DS1 is the same at age 4. I get him to wear undies about, oh 20%? of the time. He still sits down to wee, so even if I do get undies on him in the morning he often ditches them the first time he goes to the toilet Most of the rest of the time he just flat-out refuses. I would like him to wear them all day, but not at night (DH reckons he needs time at night to let it loose and who am I to argue with the man?) Good point about the uniforms... DD manages with just one pair of school culottes, and I'd like to only buy one pair of shorts too! Better start training him now eh

No problems here... DP and I wear 'em so the kids do too. Not at night though although DD has a thing about basically being fully dressed at night As someone who has taught little kids though ... if you're going to let them wear none (which is fine BTW) please teach them to sit nicely as working as a teacher I don't really like copping an eyeful when they're all (girls and boys) sitting on the mat with their knees up round their chins and its all hanging out !!!

I'm not sure the parents of girls would appreciate Actually little girls (from experience) are far far worse with how they sit and I always feel sorry for the boys!

Last week whilst on holiday I discovered my nephews don't wear undies they are aged 13 and 9 !
Also my SIL told me when the time comes for undie checks on my kids to watch out for this...
A friend of hers kept telling her son to put fresh undies on every day as he was notorious for wearing the same pair day after day. Anyways she became a bit suspicions after a number of days as his pants started to look more and more bulky - turns out that yes he was putting fresh undies on every day but he was just putting them on top of each other!

We are fully underclothed family in our house so I just can't imagine sending kids without them all... I've suggested to the kids they don't have to wear undies at night (I often don't) but they are not keen.

I'm not sure the parents of girls would appreciate Actually little girls (from experience) are far far worse with how they sit and I always feel sorry for the boys! LOL I said that "parents" but yes I know what you mean...I said the parents as in DS's first few months at school we found out he and a couple of other boys had gotten in trouble. Some parents of girls complained their girls were frightened to come to school due to them flashing their willies at them All the video footage and photos I have taken of my niece in her first 6 mths of school for her parents have her sitting there with her legs wide apart undies on show! I have been trying to drum it into her over the holidays to sit nicely

Our DS has always worn them. He prefers the cotton speedos style ones, rather than boxers.

lol with the sitting...soo true, though both of my boys seem to wear quite long school shorts so prob quite safe - i've def never caught an eyeful yet. i have no idea why/how they started wearing none...they've never really worn them overnight - just satin boxers and t-shirt, so maybe they just liked the feeling - they were both nudey rudeys as kids running around all day in their birthday suit so maybe thats affected them for life of something ill lay them out for them, they'll get dressed, but come bath time it appears they simply put the undies away instead of putting them on - and omg the drama to get re-dressed when i do realise lol - and worst lately sometimes at night they'll sleep just in the cotton boy leg boxer undies and a singlet...but come morning they'll take the undies off to put their shorts on. tomorrow is a new undie wearing day I think

I reckon I'll have the same issue with X. She spends 75% of her time at home in the nude but if she puts clothes on, she never puts undies underneath. We have compromised that if we are going out, she needs to put undies on otherwise we don't worry about it. Could you try something like that? Undies at school but commando everywhere else?

Huh, I didn't realise there were other boys who like to go commando - thought it was just another of DS2's foibles. If he does happen to wear undies he doesn't change them until I tell him (he's got to 3 days before I realised ). I insist on undies for school but he does his best to get away with none.

I have no idea why DS started to skip undies, I just caught him out one day when he was getting undressed! He likes to sleep in them though!
