Any recommendations? I see that Breville, Sunbeam, and Cuisinart all have GF settings now. Does anyone have one and how do you find it? I want to do my own recipe rather than GF mixes and they also have to be egg free. The Sunbeam 2500 is $100 less than the others but it's been tested by the coeliac soceity... I'm wondering why it's so much cheaper?

Hiya pudding,

Sorry cant help you out to much here. Our breadmaker goes flat tack but we use normal wheat flour with no eggs.

If I remember rightly, when I was doing wheat free trial with DD that I used a combination of spelt and soy flours and that worked really well for us. Not sure if you can use that?

Just bought a new bread maker - its really good and has the GF setting, but sorry havent used it. Much better than my old one.

Hi Pudding :-) I can't help but was also wondering why the Sunbeam is cheaper? We are looking at getting a breadmaker to make better quality bread for DH and Bubs (when he starts eating bread) and GF for me.

Anyway hope you can find some answers :-)

Just bought a Panasonic DS 2501 from the Appliance Shed. It is brillant for GF bread - super quiet too. Had a Breville before - also recommend but the pan wears out too fast and it was making noises.

Not sure why Sunbeam is cheaper.

Thanks smile I'm waiting for a sale to come up. It's hard with reviews on the net because for every good one there's an awful one!

It only does a 750g loaf though doesn't it?

I've got the next model up but it's about 5 years old now Sunbeam BM3500. It's been great and I've perfected a recipe (all though last 2 times blasted thing has overflowed angrywife) Mum has got a Breville and hers works well, we basically use the same recipe but different volume of water.

Does your recipe have egg in it Lisa? Ours has to be egg free which is hard with GF bread.

I don't mind the small loaf because we have DH and DS who eat GF bread and then DD and I eat spelt bread so if we make a big loaf it often just goes stale.

No sorry it isn't!

It's just me who eats GF bread in my house and I end up freezing it because otherwise it doesn't hold it's elasticity for longer than a couple of days.
