Happy New Year!!

Last night hubby asked me out of the blue if we achieved everything we wanted to in 2011... the only thing i could think of was we had hoped i would get pregnant, well my period didn't return until december so it wasn't likely

But depending on when i ovulate this cycle which is hard to know for sure until I've had a few cycles it's really hard for me to predict. But going on a normal 28 day cycle (which i've never had in my whole life) last night might have been the night and i would be kinda cool if i did conceive last night smile

Be kinda freaky if i did thought as I typically take 2-3 years to conceive so wouldn't expect it in my first cycle this time

Happy New Year everyone.
We were in bed by 10pm. DH had to work Saturday, so he was pretty tired.

RainyDay, enjoy your wines giggle

JulieJ, there is always hope and it would be super awesome if you did conceive last night.

What did you all do to see in the new year?
Any plans for the new year that is different to last year?

I am going to home school our nearly 7yr old daughter. I just have put together a plan for her learning for the new year and I am super excited about it.
We are looking forward to DH finishing his traineeship and moving to selling motorbikes and getting on top of our debt.
We would also like to get a flatmate to help with exspenses, as we are in a 4brm house and only use 2 bedrooms.
Oh and we would like to have enough money to send for our older kids to come visit a couple of times this year.
Then we can start saving for IVF, YAY!
Gosh I don't want much giggle

Enjoyed the wines too much & we missed the count down!

PD - you sound like you've got your year sorted! Awesome.

JulieJ - hoping that you did get pregnant last year!! giggle

My motto for this year is "relax"! I just want to be able to enjoy the time with my hubby & what will b will b! Easier said than done! I can only try.

Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all celebrated the start of the new year well. I stayed on the caution side and only had one small drink at midnight. But my gut feeling is that AF is stirring just have a feeling that its not our month againno

We ended up coming home this afternoon we got completely rained out and everything was wet and smelt and I was just over it, not to mention the kids were getting super boredfrown So we headed home to our nice dry home with creature comforts cloud9so much nicer!!

hope everyone is enjoying the new years holidays.

We ended up Camping last night, very much a last minute decision. basically decided at 2pm to go and was on the road by 3pm. Home again this morning as Hubby and the kids have never been camping so it was just a trail run. Going to go again next long weekend.

I guess I'm now in the 2WW, no idea how many DPO I am though so will just wait and see what happens.. knowing me I'll probably buy too many tests to use before the 2 weeks are up.

purpledragon - I'll be homeschooling my son this year too, he doesn't turn 5 until July but i'm going to start next month just with the basics and keep it as much play based as i can at this point.

LILdancingelf - sorry to hear your boy and now yourself are sick, hope it passes fast for you

wave Hi all
Glad to see some of you slowly lurking back giggle

Lil, sorry to hear you and your son are not well. I hope you both are feeling a bit better now.

JulieJ,the camping sounds like fun.We are too poor at the moment so I haven't bought even one test, lol.

I am still trying to get my head around home schooling. As here in Queensland you have to register to home school, which means you have to come up with a plan/ curriculum for a whole year. Which is alot to get your head around when you are just starting. I have been doing, reading, writing and spelling with DD since school finished last year. It just seems different/ harder when you have to relate it to what subject, and why you are teaching what you are teaching and how you will teach it and then how you will report it. Never mind I will get it sorted. Still about 4 weeks before the school year starts.

Well AF is suppose to be here if a 28 day cycle. Got no feelings of it though, so my body probably just trying to trick me and I am going to have a 32 day cycle. So that is only another 4 more days. Will see what happens.

purpledragon - I was lucky to get given my sisters old tent for Christmas, otherwise we wouldn't be camping either, broke the bank account just getting sleeping bags (didn't help that i brought a thomas the tank engine branded one to bribe my 4 year old to go camping)

To homeschool here in NZ you need to get a exception from the MOE but not until your child is 6 so i've got some time before i need to work on that. I must admit i'm not too sure about what i need to put into the exception but it's a one time thing so if i get it when he turns 6 i don't have to reapply again unless i enroll him in school and then want to take him out again.

There is also a rather large homeschool community in my area which i've already made contact with so will get the help i need when i need it.
Is there any homeschool groups near you?

wave welcome back Lil I hope you and your wee boy are getting better by the dayawww sounds like a nasty bug you've had.

PD luck . On th Home schooling allhail I would love to home school my eldest. He started school late last year and what a nightmare (although once he started his meds things got betteryes) I think the one on one would be better suited for some kids and think what your doing is wonderful for your DD and she will thrive I'm sure. I unfortunitly have to work so as much as I think i'm up to the challenge financially its a no gofrownI like what Julie suggested and get in touch with a home schooling community they'd be able to steer you in the right direction i'm sureyes.

No AF here yetunsure, I've got one test but i'm going to hold out till fridayfingerscrossed

Hi Mousey, sorry financially home schooling isn't an option for you. I am looking forward to it and DD and I have already started. It is so cool to teach her stuff that she is interested in. We have found a grassy area not far from us that has tress. There are 2 wallabies and a kangaroo that hangout there, so we have been watching them. The questions that my little girl has, lets just say the learning is endless and will be educational for us both smile

fingerscrossed for testing on friday.

If AF hasn't shown by sunday I will test monday.
