17 people PMed so far Finally some reasonable weather here. Went for a run/walk this morning...288 calories burned (wonder when I'll get bored with the HRM ) Going to do 20 minutes of Zumba when the baby goes to bed, was bad bad bad over the weekend so feel I must atone. Well, not atone because it's not like a sin to eat food, but if I am going to eat recklessly I'd better be prepared to burn some extra calories for a few days afterwards Better get some washing on the line while the going is good!

Forgive me all but I have sinned. I have done much damage over the Silly Season. Have PM'd my weight and will get back in the habit of posting rather than lurking. These challenges really do help!

I'm going to join in too, I really need some motivation to get back on track. I lost 10.4kg at the end of last year by myself but have fallen off the wagon big time over Christmas and I'm finding it hard to get motivated again.
Off to PM my weight.

I do it in our "second lounge" in between the couch and the washing racks and the computer desk so not HEAPS. Probably 4 square metres min? I got AF at 6 weeks every freaking time, even when I was breastfeeding a million times a night. So unfair. Just did 25 minutes of Zumba to get myself up to an hour...trying to do an hour a day while DH is off.

I am in too.
I need some advice straight away really about coping with cravings please. Even just the thought of going on a diet makes me so hungry and I need to eat sugar. It is now day two and the box of chocolates I got for Christmas is calling so strongly from where I have locked it away in the lounge or just some toast and jam, or a small lolly anything...
Sugar is my downfall, my usual diet is full of sugar - mum has type 2 diabetes, her father had it etc and my sisters and I have always worked on the fact that we are destined to get it due to the strong hereditary link so we may as well enjoy all the sugar we can now before we have to stop.
But now ... I want sugar so bad! I figure it must be withdrawal or similar, surely?

Armadillo - sugar is 'addictive' and your body craves a fix at exactly the same time of day if you are used to it at set times (eg every meal time). The good news is that by day 3 of sugar free you will stop craving it. And in your circumstance, it is probably the best thing you can do for yourself diet-wise. You don't HAVE TO develop type ii diabetes, you can stop yourself from getting it by switching to a low sugar diet before you get it. Try to eat something that has protein in at every meal too - so even if you are having an apple, have a couple of brazil nuts with it, or a glass of trim milk. Feels like a waste of calories I know, but stops your blood sugar from swinging around all over the place, which is more likely to make you binge. I have a can of diet coke every day, and that is a pretty good 'sugar fix' for me. If you are trying to be really strict and break the craving, dip your finger in some vanilla extract and suck your finger to stave off the need to eat chocolate.

 coming and posting instead of surrendering to the urge to have a nice glass of wine on the nice sunny deck.

I could do with a glass of wine too, my first day without since the 23 Dec.
I get sugar cravings too, I go totally cold turkey, it is the only way that works for me. I find that after about 3 weeks I stop craving sugar and it is easier to say no to. I have a cup of Healtheries Green Tea and Feijoa it is slightly sweet.

i won't be around much the next couple of days as DS#4 is getting his tonsils out in the morning, Hopefully being away from the cupboards will help keep the naughty eating at bay.
