Hi everyone! I hope it's ok that I'm joining in too smile

My biggest problem is procrastinating on the exercise - always something "better" to do than go for a walk/run rolleyes

I did a 4.3km walk today though! Pushing DD and the pram up and down hills too more

This is the view from the walk i did with the family today, we walk/climbed a 700m track which took us 123m above sea level as you can imagine some parts were VERY steep so i am sure i will feel it in my legs tomorrow

it is at the lookout on Wildhorse Mountain and has views out to the Glasshouse Mountains

Hi everyone. Hope you all had good 'first days' yesterday. I started recording everything I'm eating and I found it really helpful. There were many times during the day that I wanted to snack and then I realised that I would have to write it down and I decided I didn't need the snack after all! Since having my baby and being at home I have got into some really bad eating habits. I think its because my day lacks structure. I'll do a job, and then decide I need to eat, do something else and then have a snack and the result is that I'm still as fat as I was 9 mths pregnant it's just the weight is distributed differently! So writing my food down and ensuring I have set meal times will really help me become more aware of what I'm eating (I hope).

I think public humiliation is also a strong motivator! So with that in mind I have made a ticker to show what I have to do - 20kg seems impossible but looking at the tickers of other ladies I can see that it can be done - thanks for the inspiration and thanks to Tinbum who showed me how to change my signature and make tickers.

Have a good day everyone!

I know I'm probably late to the party here, but got a new food processor just before Xmas with a much better jug on it, and have discovered smoothies. Yum! 1/2 cup trim milk, 100ml low fat vanilla yogurt, a banana, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup strawberries. A pint of smoothie for 3 propoints - how good is that!

Smoothies are my usual snack when I'm trying to lose weight.

I need some help with motivation. It's not an issue now as I haven't started yet lol but I know it will be. About a month after I've started losing weight I lose motivation even if I've done really well with weight loss, and there's nothing I can do to get it back. I just stop caring and really want to want to carry on but just can't. So I want to be prepared for when it happens, it's like it's outside my control and I hate it!

When I dieted really successfully in 2010 it was based on my realisation that if you cheat on a diet, the only person you are cheating is yourself - no-one else cares if you are fat or thin, they love you anyway, the only person who hates you for being 'fat' is you. And I found that knowledge really empowering, helped me stick to the diet for the whole year it took me to lose just over 30kgs. And it also really suited me to do WW where nothing is totally off limits, you just have to build bad into the good.

I totally agree. My mantra is the only difference between me and the people who don't lose weight is when I have a bad day/week I don't give up. I suck it up, count it in, and move on.
I think it helps to have a think about what you're trying to achieve. Is it about being size 12? Is it about being able to chase the kids? Is it about fitting back in some old clothes?
For me, the weight was (hang on, about to get a bit wanky here LOL) a physical manifestation of all the lack of order in my life. Now that I have control of my weight, I also have control of my finances and control of the state of my house. I used to be stuffing myself with food to comfort myself, stuffing things under the bed instead of tidying properly, sticking things on the credit card instead of evaluating if I needed it NOW or later. I have done some difficult things, like seeing my father after not seeing him for 20 years, stopped trying to please people who will never be pleased, let go of old hurts.
On one level it truly is as simple as eat less and move more, and on another level, I don't believe you can lose weight and keep it off long term if you haven't worked out how being overweight is working for you.
