An early Happy New Year to all!

We are going to sit in our back yard (ie: garden to us) and watch the New Years Fireworks put on by a casino about 5 minutes drive from our house.

Now, what about the rest of you?

Happy day, Gus

HAPPY NEW YEAR
to you all drinkies

Enjoy the display Gus. Sadly it is raining here and expected to last for a few days, it will ruin our firework/aircraft display that takes place in town on the Marine Parade, lots of people turn up for it, a family occasion, can't see it going ahead if this weather continues like this.

Tomorrow night we will head into town and park ourselves at the local RSA and enjoy the music.

I will sit as usual and watch some TV and move to bed to read and sleep whilst my DW does a night shift and that's fine. I've done my share of NY Eve partying and am now grateful to relax at home. The stock will be there for me in the am aaaaand the rain...heavy all this am and predicted to go on till next wednesday....have hay to cut and rain is making it fall over but that's life. All is still B. good really and healthwise too.

Do all have a happy one people :-)

Happy New Year every body...

Abit of a sad day today, our 52 year old neighbour died on the 27th (asthma attack) the funeral was today, great service but oh so sad for the husband, they were childhood sweethearts..whether we have diabetes or not, anything can happen anytime regardless of what it is that gets us in the end.. but she was a great lady and 52 was way too young to go...

So please enjoy what you have and love every day as if it's your last...

I am about to open a bottle of merlot and enjoy it until the last drop, and I am also so pleased I didn't go to Melbourne, this death has made DH and me alot closer, as death does..

Sorry this is abit morbid on the last day of 2011, hopefully 2012 will be alot better for all of you..! as I know it will be for me and he..

Heyjude

grouphugthere is nothing like the odd jolt of reality to bring the message home to one , isn't that the truth.

Life is full of choices, as you well know, and it s great to note that the ones you made are working out fine.

Still New Year's Eve here, so we are going to crack either a merlot or chardonay, still deciding, maybe loosen our morals and watch the fireworks.

...... Okay, maybe not necessarily in that order :D:D

Happy New Year's, Gus

That is so sad Jude and so young. My motto on life is, live everyday as if it is your last as you don't know what is around the corner, life is way to short for petty things so don't sweat the small stuff.

We spent a very nice evening out with a couple of friends, during the course of the night they had a slight disagreement (over nothing) she phoned me when they got home to make sure we had arrived home safe and said they would be sleeping in separate rooms for the night! I felt so sad for them and thought what a start for 2012.

Anyway gone off the track ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) to you and your neighbour, so pleased life is working out for you.

PS: I have had trouble loading this forum this morning, could get into all the others but not this one.

Bryan, there was a day when I could do both, take an Aspirin the next morning and life went on. Ever since I have been on Metformin, a glass or two leaves me with a hangover the next morning that makes it not worth the drink.

Jude, your words reflect both the loss of your friend and your own reflections on where you have come from, and an appreciation of what you have now. Good on ya girl for hanging in there, that is never an easy path.

Our daughter left for home on the 28th, and her first shift involved a car where the driver had an aneurism, died at the wheel and drifted into the oncoming lane and killed another person. There are now two families linked by unpredictable death, and like your friend Jude, seems so unfair. Reflection for the fragility of us all.

Gus

Happy New Year!!! congratulations

I went on a semi blind date last night. I had seen a photo but thats all and likewise for him. We met at a local RSL type of club (quite flash) and I spent a very good night talking to my date and getting to know each other better. It was a really good night - home by 3am and a smitten kitten is he. giggle

(((((((HUGGLES)))))) Tatts, all my best to you for the New Year and may love be in the air for you. You deserve the best.... he better measure up...... or else!

I didn't know there were RSL 'type' clubs, either it was an RSL or it wasn't. I was duly impressed with the RSL's compared to the Royal Canadian Legions which are stuffy old war horses sitting in overstuffed chairs reliving the good old days. No disrespect, at an incredible cost they kept us from having to learn German, but the Legions now belong to to yesteryear as they have done very little to keep themselves relevant to the present.

Happy day, Gus

Gus, it is actually called the Catholic Club and they are dotted sporadically across the countryside here in Sydney and possibly beyond. They are owned by the Catholic church, they are very fancy with marble flooring and sweeping staircases on one hand but then pokies and casino style rooms on the other. It's all very hypocritical really but I don't play pokies so that side doesn't affect me. The reason I referred to it as an RSL type club is b/c it's the closest thing to it that there is in NZ that I could think of anyway. That or the Cosmopolitan clubs (or Cozzie Club)

Thank you for your kind sentiments team. I am long overdue for some lovin and I am getting pretty lonely. Hes a lovely guy, very handsome, good job, a couple of younger children and a bit of a rough time in his previous relationship. Early days yet but very promising and exciting at this stage!
