Hi there,

I'm in need of some support. We had a miscarriage in January this year and have been really deeply affected by it. My hubby and I decided that we would like to get pregnant again and have been trying for what seems like ages. (Every month seems like ages when you put emphasis on getting pregnant) I've been getting really upset by always reading other peoples posts about the fact that they get pregnant within 1-3months after their miscarriage and I can't seem to find anybody out there who has been trying for a while with no luck as yet. I just want to know that there are other people out there in our situation. My body has been all out of wack and my periods have only been coming on average every 6weeks. After the miscarriage my emotions have been aweful. I am trying so hard to relax and just let nature take its course, but I have times when I just really struggle with it. I have so many friends pregnant with their 2 or 3 child and I feel completely envious and I don't want to be.

I guess I just need to know that there are other people out there going through the same kind of emotions. What have/are you doing to cope?

Hi PhilippaY

I really struggled after my miscarriage with whether to try again and was also very deeply affected by it for a long time. When we decided to try again, it look many months to get pregnant also. I don't really have any great advice about how to cope but I know lots of the lovely ladies here will be able to help with some great suggestions.

Do you have a miscarriage support group in your area? I found they were invaluable. Google Miscarriage Support and you will find some really helpful information and details of groups.

The envy was something I also really struggled with - and felt gulity for as well but to be honest it's very very normal.

Hugs to you.

Hi Phillipa,

I too had a miscarriage in January. We didn't try again for a while, my body seemed to take forever to get back to 'normal', and to be honest, I don't think it is the same as before?
I was trying to track my periods and we were trying really hard to concieve. It was stressful, and each month I was so sure that this would be the time, and it wasnt and I actually felt like I had lost another baby. It is a real roller coaster.

Then in October we were both so busy and tired we acutally only had sex once in that month and I got preg. We have been trying to have a baby since 2008.

Lots of people say that it's when you stop trying that it happens, I think it's to do with less stress, and making love for the right reasons.

Don't give up, it will happen. If you have been preg before, you will again.

Good luck luck

Thanks girls for your supportive replies. Sometimes I just feel like I'm the only one out there going through these feelings and it's good to have encouragement and support from people who understand the situation.

Hi PhillippaY, you're definitely not the only one going through it. This latest pregnancy we were lucky and conceived about 6 weeks after the last D&C, but in the past it's been a lot closer to 6 months.

On a general ttc note though, i found the ovulation tests fantastic - and you can buy them online which is heaps cheaper than at the chemist (which matters when you feel like you're using lots of them month after month!).

Good luck
