Hi Salamander.

I am a few days further along than you, aprox 6 weeks. I too am having a dating scan so I'll find out for sure then. I havent felt brave enough to have a ticker yet, my scan will be around 8 weeks and I'm told that after that the chances of anything happening drop considerably so I might wait til then...

Had a good day, had constipation type cramps for most of the day today, I have alway had bowel problems so I'm guessing I'll have them for most of the pregnancy. Will talk to the doc tomorrow. Getting blood results and talking about screening on the agenda.

Hi Phish wave

Hope you are feeling a bit better today!

I am about to head off to the gym ~ gonna tone down the intensity of workout but want to try and keep it up!

Just lurking in here - Hey Salamander, I used to be a bit of a gym bunny too but I haven't really been since my EC (and I think it shows) anyway I was warned to not over heat in early pg and keep my pulse below, I think it was, 120 bpm as the e,bie doesn't like it. After 12 weeks I think it's ok to keep the intensity moderate as it prepares you for pg, birth, healthy bubs and being a mummy cloud9

Hi Salamander welcome and Congratulations! I love hearing when people get natural BFPs after such a long wait.
I was on TTC about 4 years ago under the name Tamryn which is my IRL name so decided to change it to smoochie a few years ago. Been on ebb for awhile.

I moved the basinett back into our bedroom today. It was in DD3's room. DD1 and DD2 share a room so when DD3 is about 15months we will move her in to their room. There is room enough for 3 beds.
I found some newborn nappies left over from when DD3 was a newbie and they are so tiny! I don't know why we always forget how tiny they are.

Thanks for that info KJB ~ yeah I didnt know if I was overreacting toning it down ~ but serioulsy I would rather do that than regret pushing myself ~ BPM were under 120 the whole time I was on the dreadmill today so thats good to know ~ might cool it for a while though!

Hi Smoochie ~ thanks for the welcome! It feels so great to be here after such a long time ~ like you say as well! That must be an awesome bedroom to fit 3 beds in! Thats great! I was just in the room that will be the nursery fingersx and its a blimmen mess ~ its been the dumping room for so long ~ I might have to start emptying it out!

Hi all
I have always been a big gymer, I do crossfit which is very intensive as well as some power lifting.

I have completely cut out the power lifting on drs advice. I have talked to a range of people who have varying opinions about overheating. Certainly something like bikram yoga is out, apparently nothing that elevates your body temperature by more than 1 degree. I'm not sure if normal aerobic exercise such as climbing stairs would do that or not.

For me, I have cut back the intensity quite a lot and try not to get my heart rate too elevated. I think it really depends on what feels best for you. Because we were TTC for 2 years I dont want to do anything that would put the bug at risk.

We have 2 women at my gym who have exercised to quite a high intensity right through their pregnancy's with no issues, but one of them is a personal trainer so that's her thing anyway.

i have heard that swimming is the best exercise.

Got my bloods back today and all was well. They didnt measure my HCG so I can't tell you what my number is. apparently not needed because urine test was
positive. I asked for it anyway because I have been feeling quite anxious (for no reason I'm sure but I cant help it) I hope it will reassure me.

Hiya guys, nice to be able to chat with others! I got my bloods back yesterday and they were approx 56,400 which I was told was a healthy range so that was very reassureing! I think I am almost 7 weeks along.

I am going to the gym also but will be trying to keep my heart rate down after reading your posts!

Good luck to all of you.

Mere

Hi Mere. Congratulations!

A ticker is the counter in your signature. If you click on one of ours it will take to lilypie.com and you can make your own the click on UBB code copy this and paste it in you Profile under signature. I hope that makes sense. At the top of this page you will see it says MY Stuff click on that and you will find where it says Edit profile to edit your signature and edit your ticker. You can count down to birthdays, weightloss, pregnancy etc.

oh, I lurked smile Yeah, I was 6w4d for my first scan and it was on my belly. I think they will then go internal if they can't see much. I also didn't have to down 1 litre of water either for that one. Just make sure you drink a bit and don't go to the loo right before your scan.

Hi there, no ticker yet but will work on it.
I spoke to my midwife today so will hopefully go for a dating scan next week which will also be good to make sure all is tracking as it should be!

How is everyone doing today?

I am doing okayish today. This stupid sore throat and cough is not budging and I am starting with nausea. I managed to cook chicken mince last night, mixed it in with cheese sauce and macaroni and I made enough for the next 2 nights so I only have to cook again on Sunday.
Also making trips to the loo but that is part of the pregnancy experience. It eases off in the 2nd trimester but back again in the 3rd so bad you get very little sleep.

I am so constipated I'm up at 2 in the morning with bloating and gas and its really painful. I have had this problem for a couple of weeks now and it doesnt seem to be getting any better no matter what I eat.
I have tried high fibre and this seems to make it worse, as does kiwi fruit. Am now searching for which laxatives I can use safely while pregnant, but it looks like not any.
I've always had irritable bowel type issues. I would normally take aloe vera or alpine tea for this problem but both of these are off because of being pregnant.
I've hardly slept for the last couple of days cos its so uncomfortable. I'm really at my wits end.
Is this the kind of thing I should bother my mid wife with? the dr said eat more fruit, drink lots of water- done and done, no luck! I'm going to turn into a fruit if I eat anymore.
I am worried that all this bloating etc is bad for the pregnancy.

Someone out there help me?
