It's been 2 months since I had a termination at 20 weeks due to a congenital heart defect (possible cardiomyopathy). This is the 2nd son I've lost under the same circumstances. My first son's autopsy took nearly 3 months to come back but I always presumed that was because it was over xmas time. I just really want to get on with my life and get answers to my multitude of questions!

Anna grouphug sorry for your loss. If I remember rightly it took close to 3 months before we got the autopsy report back. We had our DS early April and we got a call from our MW late June/early July who had a copy of the report and wanted to know if wanted a copy. I was surprised she was even interested considering she didn't want to support us once she found out what was found at our 20 week scan. It took another month to actually get an appointment with someone to go through the report with us and explain everything who happened to be our private Obs because the hospital had lost our file rolleyes and the person we needed to see had gone on leave for a couple of months. All I can remember it seemed to take forever to tick all the boxes so we could try and plan the future. Hope you get some answers soon kiss

Im so very sorry for your loss! frown

My daughters autopsy was done end of Jan last year, and we had our appt on April fools day! How I wished it was a joke!!! I think looking at the date of the autopsy results, they gave us a copy, it only took just over a month, but it took them a bit longer to research the condition, and get us an appt time etc. So was just on 2 months to get the results appt meeting.

Anyhow, the hospital MW told me to ring up from 6 weeks post the autopsy and find out if its there as it should only be 6 weeks...and also said sometimes they get filed under the mums file and sometimes under the babies file, and then it could get lost in the system...Id be calling and asking if there is anything back yet...

grouphug Im so sorry you have to be going through this again! But please do stay around here...if you ever need to "talk" etc...
