Hi All,
First time user to this website.
I have have recently started to taking Duromine 30mg and I am into my 3rd day.
Thought this would be a good way to track my progress and to see who else out there has used this method of weightloss.

I am combining these pills with 3 regular meals a day.
Breakfast = High fiber bran ceral, cup of green tea
Lunch = Soup or salad, 1x bottle of 750ml water
Dinner = Protein fueled. Chicken or small amount of lean red meat and lots of vegies...steamed of course!

Snacks (only if I feel hungary) = Fruit or carrot & celery sticks, pumkpin & sunflower seeds, almonds.

Liquids = Water water and more water, I also drink fruit & vege juice and lots of green tea through out the day.

I was eatting like this before being prescribed Duromine and managed to loose 2.5kgs just under 3 weeks.

Day 1 - Took my first pill at 6am, after about two hours started to get body tingles and was really thirsty. But was aware of these side effects and I drink alot of water anyway so managed to keep the drys at bay, found chewing gum and mints help to.
Had a really light sleep every movement woke me up, but wasnt to bothered.

Day 2 - 6am pill popped, had a burst of energy after about 3 hours, was running around the office like a mad women...was an extremly proactive morning I must say.
Did feel slightly nauseas in the afternoon, but after eatting a piece of fruit and having a cup of green tea I was right as rain within 10mins. Sleeped really well.

Day 3 - So far so good, have noticed that the body tingles are now not as noticable.

You might get moved there by the mods too as this is a weightloss topic.

I personally think you were better off with what you were doing before the Duromine but each to their own.

Drinking lots of water is the most important thing, especially when taking Duromine. Weightloss releases toxins into the blood from the fat cells and water flushes them out. Keep drinking drinking drinking water.

All the best. grin

Thanks for the replies - Yes this thread did get moved...not up to the play with with website just yet!

I agree that taking Duromine is a personal choice and one that wasnt made lightly. I will not be taking this every day, I have set up a roster for each week that I will be on these pills and hope to regulate my body without having to depend on the pills, as I want to loose weight and to keep it off.

Its all about the mindset and now with life changes in full swing im sure the outcome will be for the best.

I didnt realise that toxins were released into the blood - so thanks for that info smile

Hi everyone
I have been googling Duromine and found this forum - I've been reading it over 2 days and am very happy with what I have read that I have decided to sign up smile
So I'll be seeing my Doctor tomorrow after lots of thought about going on a weight loss pill (again) to help kick start getting rid of this junk and get me back on track with losing weight.
This is my story:
September 2010 - Went on a course of 15mg Reductil. I was 92kgs at the time. I didn't really track my weight while I was on it as I was full on with work, however I did an hr walking almost every day (walking home from work) and my clothes started to get loose, plus I was eating right (right as in healthy and good portions). At the end of October I came off the first course (4wks) and weighed in at 85kgs. So total loss from Reductil after 4 wks - 7kgs. Symptoms from Reductil: Headaches and dry mouth.
October 2010 - I was meant to sign up with a gym and keep the momentum going, but at that point had taken on another contract to set up a callcentre which put a hold on the gym plans, so I was still sticking to my walking in the meantime. At this point I am on no diet plan and still eating same portions with a healthy intake, however, the chocolate cravings are back and again I am able to polish off a block of whittakers no sweat LOL. I have not weighed myself at all since coming off Reductil and quite frankly, dont want too.
December 2010 - I have taken on another job which is a lifestyle change in order to slow down in my career and still get a buzz of making money. However down fall, is I am working two jobs - I feel so bad for not going on to further the success of the Callcentre so I have stayed on through the busy period until they find a replacement for me in the new year. I am not excercising at all, and watching my food intake has gone out the door. Too busy to even bother about whats going in my mouth which is not good. Again I have not weighed myself as whats the point!
February 2011 - Finally a replacement has been found, and at the end of February I have signed up to a gym and working one job and getting use to the 9 - 5 buzz, gym after work. At this point, my focus is my new role and getting into a new routine with work followed by gym. I weigh in at 92kgs (thank god its not in the 100's considering!!)
April 2011 - My first 6 wk assessment and I weigh in at 94kgs frown Have been attending the gym 3 - 4 times a week with 1 hour semi intense workouts. Still trying to cut down on meal intakes for more healthier options so these are the excuses I've made to make myself feel better. Reductil is now banned in NZ and so this is when I start reseaching a similar product on google.
20 June 2011 - been attending the gym 3 - 4 times a week, and only now I am increasing the full intensity of my workouts. I now gym it for an hour to 1hr 30mins and am sweating full on. I am also cutting down majorly on my food intake and am feeling like things are now working. Have not had my 2nd assessment at the gym yet, and have decided to weigh myself - 94kgs - so no progress, but feeling good overall. However, this has kicked my decision to book an appointment with my doc for 23 June 2011.

I have decided that I am going to go back on a weight loss pill, in this case, Duromine to kickstart my weightloss again. Given that my career now allows me to slow down a bit, that I have a set routine with my gym workouts and am starting to watch what I eat, I feel that I will be more successful this time around. I want to be on the course of Duromine for 3 months but will take it 1 step at a time given the side effects. Reductil was a great pill that did what it was supposed to do, and I was on that for a month (enforcing my choice to stay on Duromine for 3 months). If you would like to comment on my story you are more than welcome....

Good luck to everyone on here - sorry for the long story, my next threads wont be this long... smile

Well I went to see my Doctor and we spoke about weight loss options, however he wouldn't prescribe me Duromine due to the speed like nature of the drug... so I'm disappointed bigtime. He was going to prescribe me Reductil again as I was only on it for 4 a month but, its been taken off the market frown
Anywho, talked about Xenyical so I am going to read up a lil more about it before going ahead... I'm also going to see if there's another doc around that will prescribe duromine, so if anyone from wellington reads this, can you please let me know who your doc is smile smile thanks heaps!
I'll post another thread on this forum incase anyone wants to track my progress as my progress may not relate to this forum anymore (if I'm able to get duromine)., will find the right forum and advise then smile

Good luck to everyone on here -

Current weight 94kgs - target weight 60kgs.

Hi everyone!
Hows it all going?? I hope you all are well smile
bdazzla - I'm in Welly smile going from your location its a wee bit Palmy is a lil bit out...are u still on Duro? how did it work for you?
I'm due to see my Doc next week so I'm gonna try my chances (with a lil bit more persuasiveness this time) - I've been on Xenical for 4 weeks now, and I've dropped 2kgs in that time, so not too bad, but I really think that this would be more useful to maintain the weight goal once reached...
My experience on xenical has not been horrible as some others might read, you've just really gotta watch what you eat or you pay the price, simple as that really. I'm watching what I eat and have been running/power walking most days of the week for around 30min - 1hr 15min, so disappointed with the over all result, hence the try again with the doc...
rachyis - hows your month two working out? hope its still working well for you.. A suggestion - when you come off Duro, a fat burner/blocker/appetite suppresant might help with maintaining your weight loss smile

I look forward to reading how you're all getting on.. smile

Hey there just started on Duromine 15mg today, got it yesterday.
Have gotten a bit slack with everything so time to kick it in the ass and get a little weight off before my Besties wedding in Jan.

I weigh 115.8kgs. Makes me really sad to say that out loud to people don't know but its out there now, and have to do some thing about it.
This is the heaviest Ive even been in my life. Even with having baby i was only 94kgs
Had the same problem when i was going to the gym 5 times a week for an hour in the mornings plus training for soccer twice and week and a game.
Was also walking my daughter down the road every weekday too and no change. Its very disheartening that you go to all the effort to change your body and
nothing seems to be moving. Yes they say muscle weights more than fat but still, even a couple of kilos would be happy about.

Sorry i have gone on and on but will keep you posted about what happens to me and if any side effects.( Hoping for nun:))

All the best to everyone else on their with Duromine. Hope everything goes well smile

I've been looking for more info on Duromine and was very happy to come across this !! smile

I've been battling with my weight for years... I've got PCOS and the weight gain was shocking and seems to take forever to lose.

I'm a little nervous about trying Duromine due to all the side effects, but am so desperate to get rid of my weight.

I'm 5 foot 2 and for more than a year I've battled to drop more weight - my present weight is now 72.2kg and I desperately want to get back to at least 55kgs. I went up to 89.5kgs before I began losing the weight.

Would love to know if anyone managed to reach their goal while taking Duromine? And how long it took them?

Hi Guys,
Geez its been awhile since Iv been in here - Time really has flown by.

So throughout 2011 I was on & off duromine, basically due to the cost and the fact that my doctors is a bit of a drive to get to.

But in saying that I have been trying to keep in control of eatting right and have recently started to follow the old spakman diet rules. No more than 30g of fat a day and more than 30g of fiber a day - I have seen the most results following this rule then ever before.

Currently to date I have lost a total of 13kgs and aim to loose another 3 - 6 by next month. Im getting compliments from friends and work collegues all the time and I feel GREAT!

Side effects of duromine have been minimal, but have found that they do make your mouth dry which in turn leaves a nasty odor to the mouth (lol). But I keep a toothbrush and paste and lots of gum on me so that I dont offend anyone!

But other than that I think they are a great tool to AID in the weightloss battle. Lots of people dont eat right or at all when taking these and therefore end up putting the weight back on once they have stopped. The trick is to be sensible and eat regular meals.

Hi there ..

Im starting Duromine tomorrow @ 15mg. Excited & apprehensive at the same time smirk

Weight - 80kgs
Height - 1.63cm

Ideal weight - 66-68kgs

Im 40 & have gained 12kgs in the last year & finding it very difficult to lose smirk

Well not just difficult, a little overwhelming & embarrassing to say the least.

I have been on Duromine once before, 10yrs ago after gaining an extra 20kgs with my fourth & final pregnancy.

I did a 6 wk course & managed my weight up until a year ago & poof -lol- HELLO!!! ... smirk

I am aware 10yrs have passed, Duromine gave me the kick start I needed then & maintained it well for years.

Knowing what my triggers were for the weight gain - pure self indulgence & denial - then with making efforts to alleviate these with exercise & positive thoughts, have unfortunately let me down.

Im realistic to understand our bodies change with age & would just be content to shift the excess superfluous weight that is inevitably causing other health problems & undue stress.

So I happily join this forum to share my journey & wish you all the success in following your own journey, meeting your goals, attaining your dreams & above all living a healthy lifestyle...

=)

Im in Dunedin. Any one else close by for support?

I lost 20 kg while I took Duromine years back yet the weight does creep back on. its not so easy to walk in and get this medication scripted as it once was.

Ive gone back up to an unhealthy weight and I feel tired all the time. Along with joint problems...exercise can be hard to manage.
The effects did cause dryness and sleep did take some time to come right but overall...loosing 20kg was well worth it.... but, worse.... U can have rebound anxiety at the end of coming of this medication.
Dont jump off it...tapper down. U are are addicted to it like any medication .
Look the reality is so many drugs are addictive...even if they say they aren't !!!
BUT I say go for it...it works.

Time to find a Doctor who going to help me loose 30 kg.
Good luck everyone.
