Hi,

DS has mild asthma and is a bit wheezy tonight and short of breath, but he's quite happy and can hold a conversation all right...

I'm happy he's okay, he's had ventolin 2 hourly with slight improvement but he's at the point where I'd normally be close to sitting in the bathroom with the shower running just to help his breathing but our bathroom is being renovated and the shower is out of action!

I've put hot water in the crockpot and have it running in his room, tried a tent (he was not impressed and yelled and cried) - are there any other ways I can help clear his airways a bit?

TIA

I hope he's better now and you were ok the other night. I was just thinking that you might find it helpful to contact the asthma society (foundation?). They offer a FREE service where the asthma nurse will come to your house and discuss things like triggers, relief, correct meds delivery, when to seek medical help etc. I haven't personally used the service but I have emailed them with queries and they've been really good replies. Others on here have used them.

Thanks 3 boys, the crockpot worked but he got a bit hot and woke up having a nightmare (woops) but it did clear his airways a bit.

Will contact them, it seems to just be the air temp dropping at night but the wheeze hasn't totally gone this time (usually its hard out for 12 hours and then all over), might be good to find out some preventatives ...
