Hi! Just wondering how many of you IVF mums had your babies early, even just a few weeks? Through this board I know lots of ladies who have been successful with IVF, but I am noticing a trend in babies arriving early....

My DS (IVF) was born at 33 weeks 6 days after a very quick (30 minute labour) and my DD (TER) was dragged out via emergency C section at 39weeks 6 days!

We went to term, induction at 40 weeks exactly, due to reduced liquor. being IVF they weren't going to let me go past 41 weeks. I went with a MW only.

Hi MalakaisMumma DS was born at 39 weeks - the OB had told me he would not let me go past my due date because of my age (41 at the time). Apparently, in older women, the placenta becomes less efficient at passing food and nutrients towards the end of pregnancy.

My DD (IVF) was born at 41 weeks, yes a full week late. There was NO mention of her being induced because of IVF, just that they wouldn't let me go over 12 days past due date (thank goodness). She wasn't induced though, arrived in her own time.

DD born 31+4 weeks but measuring more like 28/29 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. Interestingly I have discovered that antiphospholipid antibodies can cause preeclampsia. A lot of IVFers seem to have some levels of this - usually found when testing for the Colorado protocol. Clexane/heparin and aspirin can help but you need very good monitoring through pregnancy.

DD1 was IVF and tried to come out on her own at 41 + 2weeks but got stuck (brow presented) as must have been so excited to finally come out she was trying to look to see where she was going. Ended up with an emergency caesar.

My obs was SK from FAA and I was not going to be allowed past my due date. Although high blood pressure meant we had a c-section a week and a half early. I think it depends on your LMC really.

Yay congratualtions MM on making it here!! That is fabulous news!! This is an interesting thread!!
Our DD was breech and I went into labour at 32 weeks with her and they stopped it in hospital, then the same happened again just under 2 weeks later - with repeat hospital stay etc.... Then she ran out of fluid and she was born by c/section at 36+3 weeks.
Oh and we had a private Ob in Wgtn and we wouldn't have been allowed over our due date either being IVF.
All the best for a long boring pregnancy MM!!

Hi MM I know I dont fit on here but....... When we had our short donor egg pregnancy I was going to be induced at 36 weeks. Due to my age, IVF and also losing a baby at full term. Our SP said itll be the same for future pregnancies too. (c-section)

Wow - Great to see you are pregnant MM. I remember you from my time on TTC#1 forum! I really hope you have a smooth and hassle free pregnancy. I was induced at 37 weeks due to my blood pressure etc. Mind you with twins that is considered full term.

I was induced at 38wks - mainly because my body was struggling but I probably could have gone another week but I wasn't keen. It was getting hard to move!
