just wanted to post on here bcos yuuum just made an awesome discovery

we went to friends house for a special breakfast the other day..and she's one of those 'everything' is some sort of super health food ppl...anyway i was shocked(excited) to find we were being served up pancakes...but then i saw what they were made from and i kind of went ohhhhhh stink healthy pancakes. hahahah but OMG they are the yummiest pancakes i've ever had...and they're actually not BAD for you...
so here's my share:
whisk
1 egg and 2tablespoons of sugar
add in 3/4C rolled oats, and 3/4C milk
mix
sift in 1/2C flour and 2teaspoons b.powder

cook in frypan lightly buttered, sprinkly blueberries over the top b4 you flip (optional)

and if you so desire serve with a side of passionfruit yoghurt yum yum yum

they dont taste healthy or rolled oaty at all they are almost like those mcDonalds hotcakes but better - nice and creamy

ok sorry about topic...i know its not technically in the right topic...but i never use the food one some im against posting in there lol

And can you make the mixture the night before (like you can do with usual pancake mixture)?
Thanks - wanting to make some for brekkie tomorrow for sleep over kids! (but don't want to waste time in morning).
Thanks

yes I imagine theyd be fine to make up night b4...tho i have to say they are the fastest pancakes i've ever whipped up, not much messing about in putting them together -lol and i am normally one of those ppl that use millions of dishes and spread from one end of the kitchen to the other haha...but these were simple as smile .
rolled oats - i just used my normal ones (Harraways rolled oats) i use for porridge, which are probably quite processed I guess - they're not the type you have to soak overnight-i.e they do go smooth and creamy in the microwave- i imagine whole unprocessed ones would be best made up and soaked over night in the mix.

I used milk oaties for mine last night, they were the only ones I had and it was yum. I agree they were the easiest pancakes ever!! Served them with chopped banana and maple syrup, they were devine! Thanks for that Cadiam! Definitely gonna be a mainstay in my recepie book now grin

Yep, we've got a recipe book with these in at home. I have also made them with no sugar, more oats, and less flour when DH was doing his low carb thing. Still super yum!

1 Table spoon oil
2 table spoons butter
and 2tablespoons of sugar
add in 3/4C rolled oats, and 3/4C milk
mix
sift in 1/2C GF flour and 2teaspoons b.powder

cook in frypan lightly buttered, sprinkly blueberries over the top b4 you flip (optional)

I used the oats as my lot can tolerate them otherwise I would just leave out the oats and put in 1/2 a cup more of the GF flour.

Handy, my fussy eaters said they were too gritty as well. I used whole oats so maybe they would bet better with the chopped up ones. I thought they were yum!
