I'm fine if anyone was worried about me! (Probably not, but I'll pretend someone was concerned

)
Still very surreal and I think I am a wee bit shocked still! Didn't seem that bad where we are and wasn't until mum text in a panic (she is currently in Samoa for work) saying they had all been woken up and told about a massive quake that I realised it was serious.
Our street is untouched but go down the road and around the corner and it's absolutely munted! My poor grandad's back yard is under water and there is silt everywhere. His garden is his pride and joy (and livelyhood) so he is devestated to loose all his spring flowers
DP works in insurance and was meant to go into work today at 8.30 (his normal rostered hours) but his boss text when he was half way there and said for him to come home. Phew, I was freaking about being alone all day with two kiddies! And anyway, there is very little insurance can do at this stage, all earthquake claims go to the EQC. (Just in case anyone was thinking about calling insurance!)
My sisters and dad live in Darfield (where the quake was centered) so they're all on edge. They seem ok though, no house damage, just broken bits and pieces.
I am counting each and every blessing today though. Soooo thankful for everything I have!
And here's a wee laugh for all your fellow ChCh'ers that are still on edge... While trying to go back to sleep after the quake this morning I said to DP "if you're in an airplane would you feel an earthquake?"

It was a serious question, I thought it might do something to air pressure. He nearly wet himself
