hmmmm well was gonna join the BL8 but maybe here might be better for me?
Hey lunna ;\)

Ok so about me... woohoo I can talk about me! KIDDING.
Ok i'll admit it...
I'm a bit podgy, finally got the guts to weigh myself after not doing it for about a year or so, since i my first PG I guess.
92.6kgs, and then i went to the loo and it was 92... woooohooo its started already!
Aim: to get somewhere in the 70's, the absolute best i have ever managed is 76.6 so ultimate goal is to beat that.
I have always battled my weight since first doing WW when i was 17, being tall it is easier to hide it. Now I am 41 and generally I low carb to loose weight and it has worked really well for the last 7 years or so, getting down from 94-77 and maintaining it for 6 years, till getting PG twice last year. But NOW it is time to try again seriously, no excuses!
Will be good to motivate myself by talking to others.
So here i go...

Hi Rashika! Welcome and congrats on your new baby!
I'm another one who finds cutting carbs helpful when losing - I start the day with oatmeal, though (no salt or sugar, just cinnamon) and that helps me feel satistfied for most of the morning. Do you do South Beach or another low-carb program?

WTG Smoochie!!! Geez you're doing so well!

Hi lunna! I'm another Kiwi over the other side of the world, living in the UK for a few years, originally from Wellington. Lived in Dublin for 6 years in the 90s - whereabouts in Dublin are you living? I was in Castleknock for a wee while, but mostly lived southside in Dundrum and then Rathmines.

I'm an ex-BabyPhatter, got to within 2kg of my ultimate goal last time after having DD, but put on quite a bit with my last pregnancy and it just ain't shifting. It's mostly around my middle too, so I still look very pregnant

Ultimate goal is 55kg, currently at 65.4kg and hoping to get to 61.4kg by the end of the challenge (although secretly would LOVE to break into the 50s!!).

I found last time it was much easier losing the weight while I was still breastfeeding, as long as I ate sensibly and exercised - having a few problems getting up off my lazy arse to exercise at the moment.

Rashika, welcome! I always did my weigh-ins after going to the loo Carbs are my vice too, and going low-GI worked well in the past, so will give that another try.

I love the idea of being fabulously skinny minnies by our babies' first birthdays! I also want to look good for when my mum and sister visit in May.

Oh, I will be away for the final weigh in \:\( I'll have to post when I get back \:\)

Ta Bella! It really is hard work being a mum, but i do so love the wee boy.
Generally i just work my own programme, basically no bread/potatoes/pasta, a very little bit of rice, plenty of veges (Low GI ones), salads, and a little bit of fruit. Usually make my own yoghurt and that is often a snack for me with some low sugar jam to flavour it. Cheese, eggs and any other protein. used to have lots of fish but it has got so expensive and thats where I am gonna find it hard this time.
Trying to stay low carb but keep costs down as well as income is way reduced now... it will be a challenge.
Oh and needless to say no bought baked cakes/sweets, but I did used to make my own things like protein balls (kinda choc flavoured protein powder balls) and nut biscuits (usually almonds & coconut types of things).

The good thing is that I do have a little more time being at home at the moment (in some ways!) even with wee Toren, so I should be able to plan food better.
But I will be starting back at work part-time by end of may so will have to work something out then. Hopefully by then I will have achieved something and that will inspire me to keep going.

I really want to fit back into my race leathers as i race motorbikes occasionally. Tried last night, got them on but at least an inch from doing them up!

hi everyone

great to see so many familiar faces. I've just updated my weight ticker and have decided to weigh myself in the evening rather than the morning as this suits better with my daily routine.

My weight for today is 64.4kg and my goal for this challange is 64kg and the ultimate goal is 59kg. Well the ultimate goal is really 60 but I think it will be nice to get to 59 to keep that one kg for 'maintaining' purposes.

Tracey do you still want everyone to PM you their ticker URL?

I've done Baby Phat after DD1 and am back to lose my preganancy weight after DD2 and am struggling with the last few kgs.

My exercise goal for this challenge is to do 10 sit ups every day and aim for one walk per week. And the weight loss goal is to not have a gain during this challenge.

Great to see all those lovely goals of reaching goal weight by little ones 1st birthday.

I'm struggling in finding ideas of what to drink while the weather is getting colder. I feel like a lovely hot drink but can't do too many cups of milo if I want to loose weight. Has anyone got any suggestions of great hot drink low in calories?

Looking forward to chat.

Edited my post to say goal for this challange is 61kg, I sure hope to lose more than just 400g in 8 weeks

I was a Babyphatter too way back when I arrived in NZ when DD1 was 9months old and I weighed 81kg then. Lost 9kg on Babyphat. I didn't reach my Ultimate Goal before I got pregnant with DD2 but I am hoping I will this time round before the next one next year \:\)

Hi Jax! You just reminded me I need to set an exercise goal... hmm... for the first week, maybe 10 mins of exercise 5 days.

I'm going to weigh myself again first thing tomorrow (Wed) morning for my "official" starting point.

oh yeah, exercise is the big thing for me too. I try to do quite a lot cos I find that it really helps with loosing weight.

Started doing the ball workout from Windsor Pilates last week... its a challenge and it took about 2 hours today due to several phonecalls from work and then baby stuff. Meant to take 45mins!

Trying to cycle most days as well (I used to cycle to work everyday), so getting DP to take T for 30 mins while I go for a hoon.

But really my biggest challenge is to watch what goes into my mouth and to use the advantage of BF to help me a bit!

Hey
I'm from the Wairarapa - have two boys 13 months apart ... weight today is 66.3 - goal weight is 58.

My exercise goal is to walk with the double buggy each day for at least 20mins. We're very rural so i don't get into town - which is good in one way b/c i can't buy treat food BUT i do do lots of baking etc. Trying to cut carbs a bit and eat protein with my lunch to help milk supply (which i'm finding hard to keep up at the moment but I really really don't want to stop)

Hmm .. my eating today
1x bowl porridge (7.30am)
5 rice crackers
1/4 watermelon (it was a small one)
2 thick slices sultana/date loaf with marge(homemade)
1 orange
2 boiled eggs
1 thick slice raisin bread with marge (i make our bread, and usually make a raisin loaf since DH and G eat that quickly and it makes great french toast)

just staring at the cupboards for afternoon tea ... might find an apple or pear or more plain rice crackers (which i actually like LOL) oh and usually around dinner time i snack on dates. Am planning my walk for later this afternoon once boys are awake

Go Jax with the walk! I reckon a certain amount of crap is ok - otherwise we'll all be stressing!

Hi Jax - welcome! Great to have you on board!

sunflower - you don't have very far to go until you're at goal weight! You must feel fab!

Rashika - sounds like a very healthy, balanced way of eating. I'd love some of those protein recipes (the balls and biscuits)! \:\)

Smoochie - great that you have the motivation of a future pregnancy to keep you on the straight and narrow. ;\) I found it much easier this time 'round starting my third pg at my lightest - and very motivating knowing I've lost the weight before and can just build on that success.

D'oh - missed a whole lot of posts in the meantime!

PK and Maggie - those sound like great exercise goals! I got a crosstrainer last time I did Babyphat and found it sooo helpful for getting exercise in, so now I just actually have to use it again!

Jax - good for you already getting out for a walk! It's 10 pm here already so no time to get my workout in but will have to do better tomorrow.

Eating here:
Oatmeal w/ one canned peach (canned in juice, drained)
Two cups of tea and two cups of coffee (total)
Veg.soup w/ whole wheat roll (we had a guest for lunch and I succumbed to the temptation of fresh bread!)
Sushi - half a dynamite roll, most of a yam (kumara) roll, and most of a chicken teriyaki roll (this was a treat but probably not the best choices as some of the ingredients are fried and the rice is white!)
Two squares dark chocolate - my daily treat

I'm kind of aiming for 1200 kcal a day - I think I'm at least at that so for a loss tomorrow!

You can PM me your ticker URLs but I'm waiting to hear from Tasha about where/how to post them \:\)

:hi: rashika! Nice to see some familiar faces.

Neemze- I'm in Dundrum in the Balally estate. It's nice to stay on EBB when you're overseas as a link back with NZ isn't it?

Well I THOUGHT I was 74 kg (from weighing myself at the doctors last week), then I had to go out and buy some scales so I can actually do the challenge... and I'm 79 kg <sob sob>....so 9kg to lose just to get back to where I was a year ago before I got PG.

SO new stats are
current weight 79 kg
goal for this challenge 75 kg
ultimate goal 65 kg

I got from 92 kg down to 70 kg after DS1 with a combination of BFing, fairly low fat healthy eating and exercise (running 20+ km a week).
I REALLY struggle with portion size, that's my big downfall.
Exercise isn't a problem as we don't have a car, and I walk probably 2 km a day minimum pushing the stroller with DS and carrying DD. But it appears that stopping running combined with my excessive portions have caught up with me so here I am again.
