Yeah - 3 positive tests in 3 days so made the call to my OB today who is sending out some forms for HCG bloods twice a week and a 6 week scan.
So far taking things one day at a time and staying positive and hopeful...(Hopefully this attitude will last)

I went in for a heartbeat check today and it was loud and strong. Yay!
Yay Cal77! I wish you a sticky baby and an uneventful pregnancy.

Yipee for the strong heartbeat tiredwalker.
Man what a day!! Had a complete meltdown this morning when I discovered some blood, have finally calmed down a little now as it was only a tiny bit of spotting and nothing else has happened all day so maybe all will be ok?
Gee...This is a tough road to travel

Hi Cal, I had spotting for about 1.5 weeks, it started at around my 5th week of preg, and was just implantation. My midwife described our uterus as all wrinkled and apparently it can take a while for the blood to come down, it kinda sits in the folds, so if you excercise, sneeze, cough etc it comes out. She said as long as it was brown blood, it was fine. and yep it is a really tough road to travel. My midwife apointment went well. I was nervous, but baby was awake and jumping all over the place. He/she wouldn't sit still enough to get a proper HB reading, but apparently movement is more important. This baby is proving to be quite uncooperative, he/she would'nt move for the scan, and wouldn't stay still for the midwife fingers crossed he/she cooperates for the anatomy scan

Cal-That can be so discouraging! I had spotting for the first couple of weeks with this pregnancy and so far so good. Fingers crossed.
ABM3-Yay for an active baby!

Eek! Slight brown discharge! Is this normal at 6.5 - 7 weeks? I'm 7 weeks by my dates 6.5 by scan which I had today. Saw a wee so trying not to panic but HCG levels have not been rising at the same rate so a little paranoid here.

Hi Rainy Day, for what it is worth, I had spotting around 6-7 weeks when I was pg with my son. He is now a back-talking 7 year old, so it doesn't always mean bad news. Are you allowed a repeat scan soon? I got scans at 7, 9 and 12 weeks this time, just to keep my mind at peace. I little up date from me. I saw the midwive this week, heard the heartbeat. I need to do glucose tests this Saturday to check for diabetes, just because of that stupid age again I'm not looking forward to remain fasting until 11 am. I'm getting way to much medicalised to my opinion, but he what can I do than to comply. They are just trying to look after us as best as posible.

I did too Rainy day with this pregnancy, but didn't with either of my miscarriages.
Still very scary though, I put my feet up and rested heaps, try and take it easy.

Thanks loss5times & ABM3. I've calmed down a bit now just a little freak out. I did a bit of googling and realize its not sinister unless it's bright blood & painful Specialist gave me all the forms for scans so might book in again next week 8 weeks and then again at 10 weeks hope everyone else is doing well. TGIF. Might even see if I can wrangle a half day off today.

RD-I had the same with this one, but we're doing well at 14 weeks. Best of luck to you!
Well, I ended up in the ER yesterday with severe shortness of breath. It felt like someone was sitting on my chest. I went in and everything checked out okay. They have no clue what happened, but I did get a full blood panel, EKG, and a few other things. Looks like I'm healthy enough, but just need a little more rest. They told me to lay down a lot, but that's hard with a 3 yo, 22 mo, and 22 mo (niece) 5 days a week.
The good that came out of it was getting a quick ultrasound and seeing the little one wiggling around and having a strong heartbeat.

How are you now TiredWalker? I recognise the difficulty getting enough rest. Take care and grab any moment of rest you can. No time for high standards in housework etc.

I was back there again yesterday. They think it was an anxiety thing, and now I feel like a mental case. I'll be seeing the OBGYN on Tuesday after the holiday, and then go to a pregnancy psych person. It's odd. I've never really been an anxious person, and I don't feel like I've been really upset or worried. Maybe the whole pregnancy after a loss is getting to me in the back of my head while I'm taking care of the kids.
I'm not comfortable taking medicine at all, so I'm going to try some relaxation techniques. My mom is going to help me watch the girls next week too, so I can try resting more. To be honest, I'm more freaked out about a psych diagnosis than being pregnant again.

Yep, nobody wants a psych diagnosis. You having elevated stress and anxiety levels doesn't mean you're a nutcase. It might just mean that there are still some aspects of your loss of the MC that you didn't work through and now your pg again your mind suddenly notices that you are a little stuck. And because your bussy all day with 3 little ones there is no time to navel gaze and find your hidden anxiety. After my 4th mc, I had 3 in a year, I felt I couldn't concentrate at work anymore. I sort of held it together, but my mind was doing overtime not-dealing with something. I went to see the employer assistance programme psychologist and asked her to help me to get un-stuck. She asked about all sorts of aspects of being pg, lossing babies, parenting, never parenting a new baby, hubby maybe not forfilling needs (that one didn't resonate at all), until we repeatedly hit the same pain spot. After I worked that through I was able to move forwards in a few days-weeks. It was hard work, but I never took medication. I strongly believe it's better to look our emotional pain in the eye, just as you need to when you deliver a baby in labour. I think it's a great idea that your mum will help you out a bit coming week. Make some time for you alone and allow yourself to grieve, feel the scare that you might loose this new precious one as well, be nice for yourself. Do something that makes your mind moving, for some people it's walking, others it's having a warm bath, writing your thoughts or a poem. (one day I took a hole morning to write a poem, it's somewhere on the MC forum, when I read it now I still feel the pain I felt back then.) Take care and let us know how you go.

I don't think you're a nutcase Tiredwalker - the body has funny ways of letting the stress show through, and you've been through a horrid stressful situation. Look after yourself as much as you can, ask for help, and try not to freak about the pysch assessment (probably sounds scarier than it is) - oh, and keep talking to us too!
