I was going to shave before my induction (as recommended to me by several friends), but went into labour naturally and so it was pretty unkempt blush. Your birth team have seen it all before I guess, but I was thinking of shaving as I thought it would make everything easier to clean afterwards. Ended up with a CS so no idea if it would have been better or not!

I say trim. I think DH trimmed mine about 2weeks before birth, I felt it was easier to clean with the bleeding [I don't like the shaved look].

In saying that, I don't think that doctors or mw's care at all, they'll have seen it all before and deal with all religions/cultures which don't do any 'self-maintenance' below.

Definitely trimmed here, for weeks earlier "just in case" LOL
For my elective c-section, I shaved the area they needed to cut so I didn't have to have the nurses do it.

I planned on trimming or shaving with #1 but didn't get a chance.

Hopefully this time we'll get a bit more notice of induction and i'll at least shave the c-section area just in case.

God you crack me up. I put trimmed too, but for actual undercarriage I shaved every week or two leading up to the births.

Bwahahaha QEII.

I shaved, but both mine came a bit early so might have had a bit of growth on for each. I mainly wanted not to have any long ones there - surely it must make it easier for stitching etc if needed. But there again, like others have said they would have seen it all, and stitching isn't normally where the hair is.

All natural here. I am too sensitive to even think about hair removal down there when I am pregnant.

lol the undercarriagelol. I had prolapse so could not go anywhere near the undercarriage....it was like an alien coming out.

You ladies, on the whole, are very considerate.

See, midwives get to look at aliens prolapsing, they probably don't really care if we are shaved or not rofl

Me too yes I got one of those razors with the bikini trimmer on the other end and used that on the 'undercarriage'. I probably wouldn't have bothered except that my midwife is a personal friend. Definitely didn't shave as I didn't want to have to deal with prickly regrowth with tears etc.

I was au natural with my DS and next time I will definitely be having a trim - I was horrified at how hairy (and long) I was down there as my hair didn't fall out while PG (on hair and apparently down there!)

I was considering this, but given the sensitivity etc of being PG I just couldn't handle the thought of it! MW shaved me for my emergency CS, but she was running the show LOL.

I would be far more embarrassed of a completely shaved muff than an overgrown garden, personally. laugh
