Neocate re-ordering delay warning

If you are needing to re-order Neocate don't leave it until you get down to the last few tins! I had a re-order placed last Friday, was phoned & paid for it by Visa that same day. With the old distributors that we had it would have been on my doorstep the next business day. Nutricia has since taken over the distribution and quote "we are experiencing teething problems". It's a week on, it's still not here and they "think it will be delivered Monday". I'm so relieved I re-ordered when I had a box left. With such prompt service in the past I could have left it to the last tin or two out of complacency - if I had done that this time we would have been caught short BIG time! Apparently it's stored in a warehouse in Auckland, and is flown down & delivered by CourierPost. They expect usual wait of 3-5 business days and "hopefully by the time you need to place your next order the kinks will be ironed out and you'll receive it sooner". Crazy to think Neocate is essential to soooo many babies & children - it's not as though we can give them something else until the next lot arrives. Grr! Me not happy! So, a heads up in case you're getting low...

Leanne, the system in Chch is different to the rest of the country.
We have to call the chemist for a repeat, they get it from their suppliers and then you go in to collect it as you would for any other repeat prescription. I know our chemist here in Welly gets it from a wholesaler in Palmerston North. I can often have 3-4 days wait to get the next lot. So the changes would probably be only affecting you guys in Chch.
However I know that Biolab who used to do all the Nutricia stuff (Neocate and Advance is a Nutricia product but Biolab dealt with the chemists etc) has certainly changed name to ThermoFisher Scientific. They are in Auckland - just as Biolab is. I think Thermo Fisher is simply a re-named Biolab...
And I know all of this because...Nutricia do all the tubing, feed containers etc for Thomas' feeding pump and yet again we haven't got the tubing in time - the last invoice had Thermo Fisher on it and Biolab every other time!
Maybe chase Thermo Fisher in Auckland - Botany Rd I think...

Yikes Kim! LOL, so us Chc people were really spoilt with ThermoFisher's efficiency! (and yes Eleanor, I remember the lady saying one day when she phoned me to pay that they had changed name and it was more of a mouthful to say LOL). Well, the neocate arrived today, and 2 huge boxes - I'm used to getting 7 x 4 pack boxes. So 2 big boxes for the kids to play with today

Yay - glad you got your stuff! We had to do an emergency run to the hospital to get enough tubing for Thomas' pump to get through the weekend - again

Wow, will bear this in mind if we move to Dunedin. Perhaps you could also post this in Allergies?
