Welcome Shipmate wave

Glad you have all made it safe and sound grin Lots of good advice here for all your questions.

I was going to say Ezibuy for linen/duvet covers. Was flicking through the latest catalogue and they had some lovely stuff for girls, I'm sure the boys stuff is equally as lovely.

Looking forward to meeting you sometime soon smile

I bought an extendable firegard from The Warehouse for under $100, you could make it so it would fit any size and did extend to quite large. It was not a really fine mesh one but would certainly stop kids falling into the fire.

Welcome to Christchurch Shipmate wave

Trade Me is always a good place to look for linen - I bought a gorgeous set for DD2's bed a while back at a reasonable price.

Sorry I can't help with anything else...

Looking forward to meeting you and the boys sometime soon!

Oh and the buzz around work was all about the Ballantynes sale starting today, 1st floor only though. You'll have to wait a few days until the ground floor sale starts as the linen will be in that one.

thanks goat, Im going to pop in tomorrow and hopefully find out about the sale.

Have firewood sorted, dropped off a load of rubbish at the tip, feel like we are getting somewhere... BUT the best news is our container is confirmed to arrive 11am MONDAY, only 2 more days without all our stuff.

Under floor and ceiling insulation is being installed tomorrow, the heat transfer and ventilation system are all installed and you can start to feel the difference, I beat the house is going to love being warm and dry.

Ohh and we had an electric fire installed in the old fire place in our master bedroom its going to be so nice at night lying in bed with a fire going (well a look alike), very romantic laugh

Welcome Shipmate.

Sounds like you are getting organised now. It will be good to get you stuff on Monday but it must also be good with having some time without it to get things done in the house. The electric fire sounds lovely.

I haven't really looked at duvet covers lately but the one with the farm scene with tractors on it in Farmers has caught my eye.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

(And Goat - I see congratulations are in order for you too.)

Getting there HG, I found the most beautiful quilt covers at Ballantynes and picked them up on Friday so I got them for $100 each instead of $200. Found a really lovely old dude for firewood, got 3m2 of blue gum and its burning beautifully in the fire, only using 2-3 pieces of wood in the day and its keeping the house really warm. Plumber starts next week and I think the concrete man is coming next week to do the new pad out front. Thank you all ladies in helping me with that.

HG I have been thinking of you this week, was going to give you a text, must be really close to home with the news this week. OHHH AND Liam took his wee army bag and light sticks to his news day on Tuesday laugh and told them all about his real soldier friend smile cute ah.

DH goes to Japan in a week for 2 weeks so we are rushing to get a few last things done so that we are don't have anything to stress about and I meet my midwife on Thursday next week, so I think under control. Be nice to have a catch up though if anyone is keen? especially the weekend DH is going to be away laugh

what I would love advice on is.....

Im looking for a nice either Rimu or Oak double wardrobe, is Trade me the best place to keep looking?

I need a lead light lampshade for our hall entrance?

Are there any nice markets around? I love love mooching around peoples junk looking for treasures? laugh

Markets, the best is at Riccarton Racecourse on Sunday mornings, it's well worth a look. yes

Bonus thumbsup on the quilts, you'll be pleased you hung around for the sale then, half price is great!

Always keen for a catch up... name the time and place. wink

Awesome to hear how well you are getting on! Great score on those duvets... I heart Ballys!!!

Yes its been a hard week really - spirits have been low around here. DH knew Tim so he has been a bit down. DH is away at the moment, so that will take his mind off things!
LOL at Liam - that is so cute. DH thought your kids were fantastic!

Markets....oh yes!!! Riccarton markets are fantastic - every Sunday (rain or shine) from about 8.30 to 2.00. They sell everything! Clothes, leather, food, fruit and veges, all sorts. And...they have a huge foodstall area with seating etc so you can have lunch and listen to the wonkey donkey man! grin

Also the arts centre and lyttelton have smaller organic/crafty type markets on Saturdays I think.

xx Keep warm!

Im happy with the quilts, they are just exactly what I had in my head and the boys said they were really nice and cozy on their beds last night and 50% off was a great budget help, more to spend on other things laugh

Thanks so much I will check out the Market, probably not tomorrow, DH and my DBrother are here for the rugby and they are at sponsors free drinks bar, then game then the official after match (lucky!!) So I suspect DH will be home with a sore head and im picking up DB at 9.30am for the day before he flys home so cant' imagine he will be up to a market (but then maybe I should just make him haha)

missed your post HG frown hugs, must be really hard, I hope the media have been sensitive, they seem to forget sometimes that its not just a story.
