I think polyps and fibroids are very similar, except that fibroids are muscle-based and polyps are skin/flesh based. Both are generally harmless, but sometimes can cause issues if they grow very large or are in a spot where they can get in the way.
I have five uterine fibroids. They found three while I was pregnant with my son - one reacted to my pregnancy hormones by growing to about 8cm across, making a strange little bump just under my ribs. But it was at the top of my uterus so wasn't a problem; in fact my son seemed to enjoy kicking it around (we think it was growing on a stalk). It didn't hurt at all and shrank to about 2cm across after I'd given birth.
If the large fibroid had been low in my uterus I may not have been able to give birth naturally but that's about the worst of it. With future pregnancies I think that if an embryo tried to embed itself into my uterus at the same location as a fibroid then that would be a problem.
I'm not sure about treatment for polyps but with fibroids they don't usually recommend trying to remove them because cutting them out is riskier than leaving them. So I mostly try not to think to much about them since there's nothing I can do.
It's kind of a pain how we have technology that can tell us about these things, but haven't yet developed the technology/treatments to actually fix them.
So I don't know, but I'd be surprised if an ovarian polyp was causing miscarriage - I thought the ovaries pretty much just release an egg and then it's up to the uterus to carry the pregnancy? I guess your dr will advise. Hopefully they have some answers for you.
