I've spoken to 3 GPs about this and none of them can shed any light on this frustrating problem. It's really bad at night. As soon as I lie down to sleep the nipples become extremely cold. I have tried layering lots of clothes on and sleeping with a pillow over my chest but it uncomfortable and doesn't always work. the rest of my body can be hot but my nipples will be cold.

I have hunted online and can't find anyone else with the same symptoms. My doctors have never heard of it before. Usually it's a generalised sensitivity to everything rather than this ultra sensitive to cold. In summer my body was sweating but my bipples were cold. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this or what sort of specialist to see.

My prolactin levels are normal
I am in early perimenopause irregular periods, nausea etc etc

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi Tutti Frutti, I just saw the title of your post and popped in to mention the recent thread on Raynauds Disease - my sister has it so I was nosying on that thread too. A few of the ladies who had Raynauds Disease (numb fingers and toes) also suffered from it in their nipples. Don't know if thats helpful for you at all, but it sounds very painful so I hope you get some help soon.

Thanks for the reply

My doctor thought of Raynauds Disease but I don't get numbness. I do feel the cold a lot in general but specifically my nose and nipples are the parts of me affected. It started with perimenopause so I guess it's something hormonal but no idea what it could be!
