Some days I carbo load .. but have found some yum low cal chips (and low points) .. called pop chips .. http://www.daviesfoods.co.nz/Pop-Chips.html .. the chicken ones are yum! (30g = .5 points) .. and the sour cream and chives although a bit higher in points (30g = 2 points) are still yum ..

Also I have cereal bars - so LCM Split Stix Youghurt Flavour = 2 points - xana bars = 2 points .. and ww cereal bars = 1.5 points ..nice and natural harvest chews = 2.5 points .. (depending on which ones .. and how many points I have available )..

I also add my home baking recipes into WW online and calculate what they are point wise .. esp plain scones or cheese scones (2 points) .. with jam (or other spread).. YUM!

If I'm being really healthy I'll eat fruit .. but I usually have that with my lunch ..

.. also I have crackers with a sliver of cheese or tomato or ham .. or my fav philadelphia light smoked salmon or hummus ..

I don't usually eat much/or anything for morning tea .. so I usually have quite a few points allowed for afternoon tea ..

.. can you tell I look forward to it .. as it's my ME time with a cup of tea .. and a light snack .. rofl

Haven't been so good today, have been wanting to snack which isn't like me (I am one who rarely eats and is why I have put on the weight), but have been trying to keep it as healthy as I can. Wouldn't suprise me if I haveput weight on.

I find that if I have a really good breakfast and lunch, then the mid/late afternoon cravings stop almost completely. But usually I don't blush which is probably my downfall.

Anyway, when I am being good, and want a snack, I find that something savoury fills the gap and stops the cravings for me. Alternatively if I want a treat, a biscuit with a cup of tea suffices. The biscuit is not good as such, but its only one, and my treat when I choose to have it.

Sorry probably not much help. You should definitely NOT follow the eating plan I have been for the last few days. Up 500g for the week already afraid

Has anyone got a simple recipe using yoghurt and muesli to make muesli bars?

Now don't you just hate it when you weigh yourself one day (happened to be Monday morning for me so this week's weight loss is going to look rubbish) and your weight suddenly dips, and you think fantastic!!! Then the next day the half kilo that you'd magically lost is back again. And shows no sign of shifting. sigh

Golly - you ladies chat up a storm on this thread more Not sure I'll be able to keep up!

Just went to reply on Peanut Butter's liver cleansing thread, but thought I'd quote it on here and do just one reply!!

This is what I have found so far
Quote:
The procedure was quite simple: I drink two glasses of organic apple juice every two hours for two days, eating only fruits and vegetables. At the end of the two days, I have one to two tablespoons of Epsom salts dissolved in water, followed by half a cup of olive oil with lemon juice at bedtime.

And I know you can get some stuff from a health store as well

I think the person doing this version of liver cleansing diet has added in her own adaptation in order to purge whilst doing it. The liver cleansing diet by Sandra Cabot is very good and written from a medical perspective. There is no way it says to drink 1/2 cup of olive oil or 2T epsom salts, which I would think would give bad diarrhaoea and be dangerous on a daily basis.

http://www.liverdoctor.com/index.php

The above liver cleansing diet is done over 8 weeks. It is broken down in to 3 sections - 2 weeks, then 4 weeks, then 2 weeks. I haven't read this website yet, just have the 1997 version of the book, so don't know what adaptations Sandra Cabot has added in the past decade or so. It says on her website the Liver Cleansing Diet will not necessarily result in weight loss, unless you are overweight, as it designed to balance your metabolism. She has 12 main principles to stick to which I will try to google and find

You start the day with 2 glasses of water with a squeeze of lemon juice in. Then a juiced vege drink. Then you get choices for the 3 meals, which includes fish, chicken and eggs for the 1st two weeks.

A mixture called LSA is used as much as possible. 3 parts Linseed seeds, 2 parts sunflower seeds, 1 part almonds. Ground up in the food processor - quite delicious and really grows on you. (Not in a fungal type of way, as in a desire kinda way LOL)

TBH - this week, I have not followed it religiously because I am just not hungry at all at the moment (got a bit of stress going on), but have totally stuck to the guidelines. Have the water, not the juice, have totally cut out the meat, using LSA on everything, not using their recipes. Having the LivaTone pills and a magnesium supplement, both of which I will only take for the next 8 weeks. Having 3-4 cups of tea and about 5 coffees which I will cut back again soon! Started 2 days before BL14, so have a head start, but the weight is pouring off already. Although that does generally happen in the first week of a diet.

Why am I doing this diet?

- Because I have the book already

- Because my very fit healthy sister uses a combination of this and I think "Fit for life" where you have fruit till midday, as her eating guide. Kind of a whole foods approach to eating. Incidentally, she has no white foods in her way of eating either. She has not had weight problems, maintains a healthy lifestyle with correct eating and exercise.

- I am also doing it as it is fairly disciplined and I am one who will sneak to in a few of the kids snacks and once I break a diet, that is it, out comes the packet of gingernuts to dunk in my tea. (usually after a few days blush)

- Whilst not too overweight, I am just in the BMI overweight category, I am carrying the weight from under my arm pits, to the top of my legs, ie all in the middle section. Have been plagued with high blood pressure which I have medicated for each pregnancy (4x) and have not been able to get off them since the last birth 4 years ago. It is currently 160/95, so way too high. Need to lose 13kgs to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. That is the goal!!

Anyway...this ramble has filled in a bit of time after waking way too early!! Have two girls desparate to get out of night nappies and they gravitate to my bed after wetting theirs.

Here is a version of her 12 princpples. Can't say I totally agree with it all. eg she says don't eat if you're stressed - all the more reason to eat correctly. Also she says to avoid the scales. Crikey - standing on those every 5 mins is your reward for all that hard work of not eating biscuits, isn't it?
