Grrrr! Just had it pointed out to me by DH that when kitkat put how many kjs their snack is in great big numbers on the side, when you lift the flap it says in small writing "2 servings per bar". So 4 fingers is actually its twice the number of kjs it says on the packet - really annyoing false advertising IMO. Bang goes my kitkat treat!

Kel - this might sound really sanctimonious, it isn't meant to be, its just that it has really hit home hard to me this time I'm dieting: Noone else really gives a sh!t what you look like. Your friends still love you, your OH will still bonk you. The only person who hates you for being 'fat' is you. You diet for yourself, and when you cheat, the only person who really cares is YOU.

If you are happy the size you are, then all is good with the world, but if you (like me) give yourself really horrible internal dialogue about being overweight, then taking control of the decision to lose weight is really empowering. That is my motivation at the moment, and if I feel like having something I shouldn't that would completely be outside of my points (because I can have small amounts of 'bad' food on weightwatchers) I ask myself if its really worth it to give that harsh inner voice a reason to have a go at me. (Am I sounding slightly schitzophrenic here?!)

I also have a specific date in mind. I'm dieting full-on until June 18th when I go on holiday. I know I won't have lost all my weight by then - I started on boxing day with 30kgs to lose - but I could be within 5 kgs of my target if I keep working hard. Having a target date is good for your mojo. HTH.

Awesome advice Mistwood yes

And having smaller targets can be motivating - I have a nice big reward every 10 kg, that is awesome motivation for me. Last 2 lots I have had a big facial/pedicure type splurge grin

I will have a gain this week too for the first time. Not sure why really but I guess I have to just keep at it more! I have only done 2 runs this week as well so must do 4 if possible next week. I was planning on running tonight but feel tired after a day out with the family at the zoo and dont feel like it.

I really do think I need to exclude more carbs form my diet to loose weight. Oh and chocolate giggle

TPO - I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Nana, I understand the devastating feeling of losing an adoring grandparent, hugs to you grouphug

This weekend has been an ongoing celebration of DS 5th birthday, off to school tomorrow for him - eeekkk! Have to admit to a certain feeling of nervousness and anxiousness about the whole thing, although I know in my head he will be just fine my stomach is telling a different story. Its been a long time since I've had nervous butterflies but I got them now!!! So I am not expecting a great result on the scales in the morning, although I have been good all week once again the weekend has let me down, or rather I have let myself down over the weekend.

Onwards and upwards for a new week. I hope you all have had a great weekend and I look forward to reading all about your losses tomorrow grin

I've been sick and DS has been sick so the wheels have fallen off here a bit. He got a cold and bronchiolitis and I got the cold. No exercise done while feeling like crap so not expecting any great result tomorrow.

On the plus side on Friday night DH suggested fish and chips and I said no and instead we had baked beans on toast which was a much better choice.

Right now DH is asking me to go and buy some chocolate and I have said NO NO NO NO NO, YES, NO NO NO, and a final NO.

Sorry I forget the name, but well done the person who threw out the too big clothes. What a great feeling. I had to go and buy a new pair of 3/4 trousers a couple of months ago, so that I had some pants to wear as all my usual ones wouldn't do up. Bought my biggest size ever as my usual pants didn't fit and I can't wait for them to be too big and they will be banished.

Twitch are you watching the biggest looser show? I find the friday shows really helpful about getting stuff in your head...

Im not sure about how to change the dialogue in your head about justifying a bad food choice, I used to do that a lot, but for some reason this time around I haven't. I plan to have a nice food, but on a day that I have actually used the calories, like tonight I had a nice ice-cream after dinner, it was 160 calories (I had WW sundae in their too but when I looked it was 150 calories and didn't look as appealing) but I had been to the gym today and used about 250 calories (by the machines calculations) and I had also done an hour on the wii in the day. I know 70% of weight loss/gain is food choices, so Im really thinking about my choices a lot more and being more responsible for my choice.

The bit I get SUPER dis-heartened about is, how come I could sit on the couch week after week, and eat junk food, crap food, eat late at night, full sugar drinks, no excercise and only put on 3-4kgs a year? and it takes so much more energy to loose 3-4 Kgs a month?

I had some pizza last night, only 3 slices (Handy I thought of you wink and Im sure its effected my week by at least 500gms this week, I wonder if its the amount of sodium in a pizza making you retain water? I should still have a OK loss this week, but not as good as it had been pre-pizza.

DH is away this week, so I should have a couple of easy days with good food choices, because I eat the Lean cuisine for dinners Yum, easy and good calories for what they are.

This bugs me too sigh

I do love to watch the biggest loser and we all like to watch the fri night show, but i think it is like a lot of things, we know what we 'should' be doing but making that head shift is really really tricky, and some days/weeks i feel so positive and good about how things are going and other times so disheartened.

I feel like i have realistic expectations of what i can loose over the 8 week challenge and all it will take is being sensible, still having my treat each night with my cuppa and doing a wee bit of exercise each day, now it seems so easy when i write it like that and in my head i know it is easy BUT actually sticking to it is sooooooo much harder, that is what bugs me frown

Had to laugh after sending a PM to someone this week. Told her I hadn't lost weight due to being a BFP .....as in Big Fat Pig, will start rumours if I am not careful!! No chance of a pregnancy here!

Actually have only been a slight pig, due to the approach of Easter and associated hot cross buns and chocolate, but pleased to have not gained after last week's good loss. Will go back to trying to lose weight again this week. I have the girls less this week, so it will be easier to get out and exercise.

On a cheery note I bought a bike yesterday. My last one was stolen and since cycling is my preferred exercise, I bit the bullet. Not quite there yet with the girls to bike together. Had a baby seat on the other bike which was nicked. (Had only just put it on when the bike went mad)

TPO - sorry about your nana. I have an old Gran in her mid 90's and a young Gran in her mid 90's, who still plays 9 holes of golf a week and she learnt to text a couple of years ago. They have been such a big part of our lives, can't imagine them gone. Hope your other nana is coming right with a decent quality of life. I must admit, the "young" Gran has always inspired all her grandaughters and seeing her now makes fitness and well-being all the more important. She has always had cream on her porridge, so have always justified the same wink

It is really hard to lose weight, but my self talk is more when I look at the change in a decade from 30's to 40's, I keep thinking if this is the pace that my body is going downhill, then what can the future hold healthwise. (50's is the new middle age though isn't it? LOL) It can't be impossible to lose the spare 10kgs I carry between under my armpits to the tops of my legs. Need to change my "I think I can, I think I can" to "I know I can, I know I can"

Thanks everyone for your kind words with the loss of my lovely nana ..

.. the other one although not well well is going to be sent home to my Aunty and Uncles (my aunty is the head nurse at the hospital) to be looked after .. she is still going to be on oxygen .. and they will look at what treatment they will be able to give her with the tumor (taking in to consideration her age/health etc and whether or not she wants to do treatment) ..

Hope everyone has a good week .. andthe weigh in todayis on your favour smile
