Ok, so im a T1 diabetic and I guess my control isn't what it should be! I constantly have thrush.. Yes its annoying and yes it is affecting my sex life! Ive tried the over the counter creams, ive tried the pill. Ive tried doctor prescribed creams now too. Im taking a probiotic, iron tablets and have also tried vinegar! Now, im looking to see if anyone else out there has this issue and perhaps a new tip or three? Its really starting to get on my nerves

Poor you I can sympathise. Are you 100% sure its thrush? Have you had vaginal swabs taken? I have had since December what I thought was thrush. Tried all the creams & pills through a chemist. Which gave me some releif but not totally. Went to my GP, & going on my symptoms gave me a different type of cream (can't remember which) plus also Micreme H. Worked well for a bout a week then came back again. Went back to my GP recently who took a swab which came back negative for thrush. He said it was more likely a bacterial infection and prescribed Tiberal. 3 tablets at night, and it cleared up within 2 days. Have been OK for 3 weeks Mine though is possibly hormonal,(due to hysterectomy 6yrs ago) combined with the heat and swimming over summer. Doctor has prescribed a hormonal cream to see how it goes

I'd go see your doctor. Apparantly some bad cases can take a couple of diflucans in a row. I once had a chemist "off the record" suggest to me that I take two diflucans a week apart. It worked well to kick it and now I just take them regularly. Most pharmacists get their knickers in a knot if you take it more regularly than you are supposed to, so I just dont tell the truth about the last time I took it. I did ask my doctor and she said more frequently was fine.

I have 90 difflucan tabs LOL! I am supposed to take one a week or so or three a month or two a month or for three days just before your period but basically whenever I need them. They were 15 dollars so it pays to get it prescribed My surgeon did it for me. Have only needed them once but I have them just incase

hahaha yeah I got it all prescribed when I was in a pre op appointment along with a variety of other stuff hehe. My GP is opposite to your creamosa, says not to bother with creams just tabs. Since surgery I hjave only had it once (ok it was only 3 weeks ago lol) and it was after a HUGE load of IV antibiotics. I have being trying to cut out sugar and no yeast now either but thats all part of the diet thing I should be eating anyway which is good

Oooo i wish I had a doctor that beleived on the tabs cos those creams are rather annoying!! And the tabs are expensive on their own. I dont have problems getting the stuff off my chemist as he knows I am a Type 1 diabetic (they seem to be predisposed to it lol) but my doctor hates prescribing anything!!
Yea, its definately thrush. Had my yearly check last week and she said: Oo, you seem to have thrush. Here lets swap for it.. Yea, it came back as thrush.

I have a book here that suggests using diluted tea tree oil on a tampon. One time I thought I had thrush, but it was a hormonal irritation type thing, and I just washed the general area with diluted lavender oil and that worked.

Hi Is your partner being treated at the same time? he may be reinfecting you. Unfortunatly it can be a reocurring problem if your sugars aren't so great.

My sugars arent toooo bad, but they are roller coasting at the moment and are pretty much unbearable!
I upped my pro-biotics and that seems to be helping keep things balanced.. Yep, he's always treated himself at the same time as me to lower the risk of reinfection too..
Lavendar you say? I havnt tried that.. Ive tried vinegar, and that was ok.

I keep getting this too, ever since I had my baby - been a year now with it flaring up 3-5 days before ovulation every month. I've done creams, pessaries, lavender oil, but it just comes back next ovulation. Should I go to the docs?

Here is the recipe I read: Soak tampon in water, squeeze it out, then soak in a blend of 5 drops of tea tree oil in a blend of vegetable oil; insert the tampon, leave overnight, and then change the tampon as often as you would during your period. To relieve itching, sit in a warm shallow bath with 3-5 drops of pure oil. BUT...it also says if symptoms persist, to see your doc. This is from "Guide to Drugs and Supplements" from the Readers Digest.
