Due to the flurry of inactivity on here of late, i feel its time to do a Roll Check just to see who / how many of us are still around.

Obviously i am here, the effects of the anaesthesia has finally worn off and my BSL's are showing up figures that i am more happier being associated with.

5.9 on waking yesterday 5.9 mid afternoon 6.2 after dinner.
6.1 this morning after a cup of tea around midnight and a piece of shortbread.

Lets hear from you all director

wave I'm here, always have been.

You are doing very well Bryan, well done. cheer

UPDATE: on my DH, he went for an MRI scan last week, a couple of days ago he saw his specialist.......there is good news and bad news sigh His Achilles tendon is partially healed (after ten weeks) he has to wear the moon boot for another four weeks, that will make it forteen weeks all up being in a caste of some sort (that is always supposing he can take the boot off then) he has now started physio, which is good, I am trying to source an exercycle for him (and me!) he is nos "walking" on his foot but has to be careful not to snap the tendon again, he see's the specialist again in four weeks, that will be nine days before we head off on our cruise........so fingers crossed.

Me I am doing fine, get a bit mentally and physically tired with all the running around. Have been going to Zumba classes for exercise, dropped a couple of KG so far.

Love to all blowkiss

I assumed you were all out cutting firewood for your winter. Our days are getting longer and brighter, which means yours must be getting shorter.

I too have been checking in, but my free time has been totally consumed with the Winter Olympics (watching women's gold medal hockey game against the Americans as I type this).

Annie, I hope the cruise line has accommodated your needs. Fourteen weeks in plaster and moon boots would test the metal of anyone. (((hugs))) mt Friend.

Happy day, Gus

Hi guys,

Am still around, but have been working long hours and again this weekend so am rather tired.

Keeping fit and lost about 3kgs of weight so all in all slim and trim.

Looking forward to my holidays in April, some friends and I are off to Waikanae to house-sit a friend's house for five nights, then I am heading to Raglan for a wedding of a family friend which is quite exciting. A friend and I are meeting up in Taupo and taking a longer weekend and having a look at that part of the country around Raglan.

Have a lovely holiday Annie and Cookie Bear and Gus well done for Canada I have enjoyed the small bits of the Olympics that I have managed to glimpse. Good to hear how you are doing Bryan.

Best Regards All

Kathryn

I think I need a 12 step program to get off the Winter Olympics.... Got home Friday afternoon, was spellbound by women's curling, immediately followed by men's hockey. So 5 hours went by and never got off the couch..... then yesterday was men's hocky for gold, the most watched television show in Canadian history.

blaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh, I NEED A WALK!!!

Raglan, Kathryn? How could I forget. There were 80 km winds, a falling tide, exposed rocks, crashing waves, and some blokes were out there SURFING!

Happy day, Gus

I have really enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics in Canada too.

The bob sledding, luge, skiing and ice skating being most interesting, full of action and crashes sometimes, but all in all exhillarating.

Having attained the level of walking for 45 minutes before the six weeks post operation appointment by about 42 weeks, i proceeded to do it without crutches. Now approaching week 7 post op, i am getting along well with not much of a limp.

Kathryn living on the Raglan side of Hamilton, i will be miffed if you don't pop by for a cuppa.

Well done Jude. I have been going to Zumba class's (hard work) and yesterday bought a exercycle, for DH wink as he has to strengthen his leg muscles, all part of his exercises, his achilles tendon is only partially healed, hopefully these exercises will hurry things along.

When DX I was 80KG got down to 60KG and now sitting at 62 and trying desperately to lose those extra 2KG before we go on our cruise.

Hi Annie,

When is your departure date? I think you posted it earlier, I'm just too lazy to do the backsearch.

Bryan, nice to hear you enjoyed the Olympics. I watched with interest the poor NZ'er who came in 40th in the 50 km cross country ski. Think of any town 50 km away and ask yourself if YOU could ski there. Just finishing that race is an Olympic feat no matter where you finish.

Some of it I watched on American TV just to see how it was perceived by others. They spent a third of the time converting everything back to imperial measurements, and the other two thirds covering American successes to the exclusion of the other 83 countries

The tax season is now fully under way... woe is me.....

Happy day, Gus

Hi Annie,

That's easy. Just quietly tell the Maitre'd Hotel that you are T2 diabetic when you first enter the dining room, and for the rest of the cruise the server will quietly hand you a different menu in the same type folder as the rest of your table. They will never know.

Also, I NEVER eat breakfast or lunch in the dining rooms, YOU WILL BE OVERSERVED. I always go to the cafeteria and choose what is best for me in quantities I want. There will not be any shortage of choice either.

Also, given DH's situation you won't be able to avoid the lifts, but a few brisk rounds of the Lido Deck will wear off some calories. Looks like you can do some walk arounds with a couple small sets of stairs aft. If that's too crowded I see the Main, Upper and Empress Decks have interior walk around floor plans.

I am always amazed I come home a kg or two heavier, but it seems to disappear on its own over the following week without trying.

Hope this in some small way helps! Gus

Thanks for the tips Gus, yes it will be a bit difficult for DH to take the stairs, of course I could meet him up stairs LOL (if I don't get lost) We are on the Empress deck so walking around there will be a breeze, also they have a gym which my friend and I intend visiting. I could always "park' DH in a deck chair somewhere. Got my swim suit packed as well.

Will let you know how I fare weight wise when I get back, hopefully it wont be to painful fingersx
