Hi,
My daughter has been on Neocate for about 3 months now and losec (10mg/day) since about 2 months (she is now 7.5 months old) Her reflux is currently really well controlled, but the only solids I offer her are pumpkin, rice cereal, potato, carrot, pears and apple. Are there any other foods you could recommend?
My pead suggested avoiding meat for a while longer as she may be intolerant to other proteins besides dairy - has anyone else successfully introduced meat to a baby on neocate?
I just read another post about when to introduce dairy....my pead suggested 9 months and suggested trailing with yogurt or custard - has anyone else tested dairy this early?
Appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks, Lisa

Hi Lisa, our little lady is now 13 months and is still only eating about a dozen foods due to reflux and allergies. The only meats we seem to tolerate well are chicken and lamb. Our wee lady really enjoys kumera and can be mashed or cooked like chips (a real treat!!)

Fruits are generally not well tolerated by infants with gastric reflux so she is doing well. I would just take things slowly and add the foods that you want to whilst keeping a food diary. I wouldn't recommend that you trial cows milk until at least one year. 50% have outgrown a cow's milk allergy by then. We recommend that gluten be avoided until a year of age also.
There is probably some more useful information here: http://www.cryingoverspiltmilk.co.nz/Food/FoodandReflux.htm
