Take heart - I have just turned 49, am now post-menopausal having plunged into menopausal symptoms at 43. I too was tested for caeliac disease (fortunately negative). It seems to be part of the procedure if your ferritin levels are low (ie:anaemic) Low iron levels in my case was due only to excessive menstrual bleeding. I got this under control with endometrial ablation. For me at 43, this was a better option than a hysterectomy or a Mirena (progesterone based IUD)Averages for menopause are just that - averages. Mothers age of menopause (and older sisters if relevant)is apparently a better personal indicator than anything. Best of luck !
