Hi everyone - As I have had a miscarriage before I am nervous about my HCG levels for this pregnancy. 2 days after my period was due (i think) my HCG level 202. I am having another tomorrow (ie 2 days later) so I am hoping it has doubled....

Is 202 low? - has anyone had similar levels at 4 weeks pregnant or lower? And what level do you think I should be happy with tomorrow - I am trying not to be nervous!!

thanks.

Hi sunshine, I too am constantly obsessing hcg levels and last night I found a great site www.babymed.com. They have lots of info on HCG levels and an hcg calculator that gives heaps of info. My level at 14dpo (or 11dp3dt) was 64, my following beta 4 days later was 389 and my beta today at 7 days later was 7365. Best of luck for you next bt and be sure to post your result which I'm sure will be super!

Hi
Sorry to stick my nose in but when I saw HCG levels, I looked. I used to have in my favs a site with a graph where you can compare but when I clicked on the link- it isn't there anymore.NOPE- found it through google
http://www.dml.co.nz/hbook/5a7b0ab.htm

These may also help you though. It is so worrying isn't it between blood tests wonderng what they are doing. Best wishes.

Hi everyone,
Isn't weird how we haven't even met but yet we can draw so much support from one another. Thank you so much for your posts. Your words of encouragement were SO helpful. I had my second blood test on Friday and it was 506 so very happy. Will have another on Tuesday. I am trying not to be paranoid but I keep having to check if my boobs are still tender!! It is such a waiting game and my husband is so excited (so am I). Fingers crossed.

Hi all, Im now 8 wks pg and have had really low hCG levels, they were 43 at 14 DPO, then went to 79 a couple days later on eventually they fell below the 5th percentile so the fertility clinic was rather concerned and sent me for a scan at 6 wks to check if there was in fact a viable embryo there (cute little baby in my language!)and there was, heart beating and right size for dates. Sent for a scan a week later to double check and baby right size for dates but the gestational sac is lagging behind! Have to wait for 10 days to check again (2 more days to wait now) I am quite anxious and emotionally exhausted. Will look at the sites previously posted and hope to feel better!

hay Kevana ,, i hope all goes well for your scan , i know how worrying it can be when all seems perfect, let alone when u have something to worry about , but just try and relax , its a great sign that baby looks to be doing so well ,, and hopfully the sac will just right itself and catch up , all the best

Sunshine , thats great news , , please dont relie on your boobs being sore to confirm u are still PG , as this can change and it can scare the crap outa ya !!
i got up one night whn i was about 5 or 6 weeks and my boobs were not sore at all , i felt completely NOt PG anymore and went in to a mad panic !! thinking id lost the baby , spent the rest of the night crying and then rushed to the Dr in the morning ,
only to find all was fine and dandy , and my sore boobs came back later that day , but they come and go now , so i try not to worry about that , as PG symptoms can change each day , so just remember my story if for some reason yours stop being sore ,,

will pop back to see how your next BT goes

mine worked out at doubleing every 44 hours ,, and Kevana worked out at every 54 hours , which is still good , so hang in there

hey everyone,
thanks heaps for all your supportive posts. So far my hcg's are (with 3 days between each) - 202, 506, 1760,4881.
I have to admit I did my own calculation and had worked out that todays one of 4881 should have been 5280 (1760 x 3). So needless to say I am now a little nervous, but then if i take a step back at look at the number it is still rising heaps so I should be happy!!! not paranoid.......sometimes you can think too hard about these things. I have to have a scan at 7 wks because of a missed miscarriage in the past. will keep you posted....good luck to you all too.

Hey sunshine, I printed the DML graph from this link:

http://www.dml.co.nz/hbook/5a7b0ab.htm

then plotted by my dates. I thought they weren't rising right either doing the math but when you plot them they were exactly on the line. it doesn't matter which line as long as they are following the right shape. the doubling every 2 days changes as you get closer to 5-6 wks.

try it - hopefully it will be reassuring.

Hi, I hope its Ok to join this topic, Im out of my mind with worry and wonder if anyone has any help they can offer. Im supposed to be about 7 weeks pregnant. I went for a internal scan this week and was told by the most horrid man that he couldnt see anything, couldnt help me and thought the pregnancy had failed. Ive had my HGC levels tested and 3 days ago the number was at 13341 and now its raised to 15500. I figured that was a good sign, right? My GP seemed to say so, but my midwife was still vague. If the level rises, is that good? Surely I must still be pregnant. If I was going to misscarry how long does that take to happen. Surely after 3 weeks Id know something? (the guy who did the scan said the pregnancy stopped 3 weeks ago, but he isnt sure, because he cant see anything????) ANY help would be so gratefully received. Cheers! \:\)

Sam, where did you go for a scan? Some scan technicians are more competent than others, and a pg can be hard to see if you have a tilted uterus or something like that.

As for the betas, if they are still going up then there's still hope. At those levels they should definitely be able to see something by now. So, either they've missed it or there's a possibility it's ectopic. I don't want to scare you, but please get VERY stroppy about being seen immediately if you get any bleeding abdominal or shoulder pain.

From what I can tell you are still in range (albeit below average levels if you are sure about your dates) for a normal pg. The handbook that does with this graph says "In a normal pregnancy, the hCG doubles every 1½ days between weeks 3½ and 6 and the trajectory rises parallel to the graph's percentile lines with remarkably little deviation. A plot which is rising parallel to the percentile lines but outside the 5th-95th range indicates a healthy pregnancy with incorrect dates."

Hope this helps, and all fingers crossed for you!
