Hi
I have a 1yr old girl. She is bottle fed and on Karicare Goats formula. We were told when she was bout 8 weeks old she had reflux so we went on the goats milk.. This definitley helped and we kept trucking with the spills everyday but it got better the older she got... However since about 4 weeks ago missy has been waking in the night grizzly crying. She is actually not fully awake but as soon as u put her down she cries again. her eyes are still shut and its like she is not really awake but shes grizzly crying. At first I thought it was teething.. it appears she is getting her back teeth.. She arches her back as soon as u go to lay her down and even changing her nappy she arches her back and keeps flipping over to her tummy.. She is always pulling her ears sticking fingers in there.. Once again I thought teething perhaps??... She wakes easily when she is asleep..she does get hiccups frequently... DOesnt sleep during day and if she does its 45mins... She use to sleep through the night no dramas but as of 4 weeks ago we are up throughout the nite with these grizzly cries... Is she suffering silent reflux??I have raised the cot and tried turning her onto her side sometimes i can get her to sleep othertimes i cant - like today for example.. She has started spilling of late again as i was starting to think she was growin out of it... I have not tried any meds or anything just wanted to see what other peoples experiences may be like...
Any advice will be greatly appreciated...
Sorry for the long novel...

;o)

Teething definitely makes reflux flare up, and with her symptoms it may well be this going on ...might be worth going to see your gp or paed ... are you using gaviscon in her feeds? This helps thicken the feed in her tummy and makes it harder for her to spill, and therefore reduces the acid burns etc etc. You can get a script for this from your gp ....

Hi
It would be good to have a checkup with GP if you haven't already to rule out ears, throat etc.
If it is teething a teething remedy and Panadol should help settle her.
My next thought would be, have you introduced any new foods? Does she eat gluten containing foods? This would be my main suspect. See http://www.doctorgluten.com for more details.
And it wouldn't do any harm to trial some Gaviscon Infant when she is unsettled or regularily for a few days.
