Hi
My DS has had reflux since he was 3 weeks old (he is now 15 weeks) he is currently on Losec and I am dairy free as am breastfeeding. As many of you, we have had a very stressful time until he started on the Losec three weeks ago and it is like a different child - he sleeps a lot better and is less grizzly. He has recently started to wake up after being asleep for only 10 - 15 minutes really congested and won't settle back to sleep. He is not congested at any other time during the day - am wondering if this is a reflux thing???
Your ideas on this would be great
thanks

Could be - my one has had 3 definite colds since birth and is currently snuffly again - but am not sure if it a cold this time, or some other food I am eating that is making her so.

So in short yes it could be - but I am not sure either with my one so really I am no help to you - I am DF as well. I have been putting saline up her nose just in case

Could also be hayfever? Pollens really high at the moment ... or dustmites?

I think the congestion is worse when lying down and sleeping because they then nose breathe. It could be aggravated by reflux so make sure the head of the bed is raised and maybe try Gaviscon if you aren't already to keep the food in the stomach. It could possibly be a sign of allergy to a food but I would expect there to be other symptoms also - uncontrolled reflux, diarrhoea or rash. Sorry I'm not that much help. Hayfever is less likely in the littlies from experience. I think Gem was over six months before she had any but was on antihistamines by a year for hayfever but it also affected her eyes so it was obvious.
