I highly recommend and we use:

Anna Richards
Quay Park Specialists
68 Beach Road
Auckland
(09) 919 2615

She is private but worth every cent to us!

Good luck.

There's a useful site with details of NZ reg dietitians:

http://www.dietitians.org.nz/mainsite/FindADietitian.html

It looks like there's one who specialises in allergies in Wgtn (Amber Parry Strong) - maybe someone will have heard of her?

I've been to see Fiona Smith with my DD (her details are under the Auckland section on the link above. She works from home.). I found her to be really good, and she was good at getting back to me with emails/phone calls so I'd imagine that would work well if you needed to contact her after your initial consultation.

Hi

We saw Amber Parry-Strong in Wellington privately and she is the best dietician we've seen so far. She knew lots about introducing new foods to allergy kids. I can pm you her email address if you want.

We see Barbara Randall at Wellington Hospital for both of my boys. My dr suggested Amber Strong but no one was answering the phone for a week so we gave up.

anna richards is good but i find her absolutely hopeless at trying to contact at other times besides your appointment! she also says she's going to send info/emails etc and never does, a bit frustrating really.

We have spoken to Barbara Randall twice at Kenerupu Hospital and she's great to get hold of. They just page her. She's also got lots and lots of info to assist people with problems. She even assisted us by getting us a trial sample of Neocates cos the specialist was slow at getting us a script and our subsidy number.

There are no allergy specialists in Wellington but there is a paed who specialises in Allergies - Dr Thorsten Stanley (he is called Tosh Stanley for short) He is based in Wellington hospital but does clinics every third Tuesday in Kenepuru (we have an appt with him in April - having to wait 9 months cos my son is already under another paed!) You can pay to see him privately at Wellington Hospital.
