thanks gutzcmum. have you had your appointment yet? luca seems to be breathing a little easier after the nebuliser, but still very wheezy. i phoned the day stay at starship where he got the gastroscopy done, and the nurse said it's a reaction to the anaesthic. gosh, is there anything that this child DOESN'T react to???? fortunately she said it should only affect him for about 2 days, but to keep taking him to the hospital if he needs the nebuliser and to treat it as though it were asthma. on the plus side, she was really helpful about the followup lelo, and told me she'd make sure he was in the system and that they'd send out the letter with the appointment etc. so that's a relief

Bri-Sending hugs your way, how horrible for you all. Poor Luca he sure does get bad reactions to things HUGS. Is he any better tonight? Yah for getting someone who was going to follow things through for you HUGS Guts-Red soemone else how horrid your gp visit was and really feel for you! GRR and they wonder why we hesitate in getting our kids checked, you would think after the amount of times hes been wrong he would take you guys seriously grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! GOod luck for cams xray tomorrow. HUGS Dolphin_i hope all the marking goes well and that the girls co-operate and let you concentrate Sending hugs to you. Jazzie-How are things there??? Us-Leo is miserable tonight, hes got a cough which im pretty sure is reflux grr... hes spilling acid still grr! and no poos today! Will take him back to gp tomorrow and explain we NEED him to have both sachets of gaviscon and we need a plan for the other end! I dont hold much faith as he told me last visit he thought that leo would be outgrowing the reflux and some of it could well be his learnt behaviour. If only these kids fitted the reflux literature! Anyway, must get the bomb site of a lounge sorted, had a cling on all arvo and evening!

We are going great guns on the oats we are up to 5tbs a morning with no adverse effect we are on day 7, so I am kinda thinking I may be seeing light at the end of the oats tunnel??? He has it with sugar and tropical neocate and LOVES it!! Well the weather has broken we have a storm going through and have had heavy rain for 2 days and its been cold I have had to dust of my winter jacket!! LOL Leanne tell hubby 17* I know I have to harden up. Lelo... Bugger Lelo is still not a happy camper have you thought/discussed with pead of adding zantac to his mix instead of the gavison??James reflux was NEVER controlled until we added Zantac.I think you may have but he would take it??? Dolphin hope the thumb is looking better can just imagine her with it all wrapped up. Bri hope the breathing has improved my gosh what a worry. Gutz hope your two are giving you a break and Charlie isnt running you raggard!! Suomi hope the snotty noses are clearing up and its is hard for children when there friends move up to morning kindy and they are left behind. Jazzie. Hugs hope the BF is going better it is not easy. I battled for months in the early days of him on again off again screaming arching his back, mastitus, low supply, cracked nipples you name it plus he was tongue tired(had to get it snipped so he could latch on) I couldnt get my boobie monster to stop. He kicked up such a fuss when Mummy decided at 2yrs 2mths was far too old to be breastfeeding. From 12mths he only had the early morning feed because of my tiredness of being up all night to him refluxing I did not have the energy for tantrums and making bottles at 5am!!Plus I new he was going to be my one and only baby!! Anyway hugs to everyboday else

<snip>Roz-thanks for the info re:bowels. How are the kids going? are they feeling any better? <snip> Hi I'm a little behind and haven't even managed to keep up with reading the messages. Long weekend now so may get there. Miss 15 spent her first whole day at school today for the week. Migraine early in week (?in response to soy) and then ?gastro bug yesterday. Have appointment made with GP in a week so that she can update the specialist and ask some of the questions that need asking. The results and the specialist's letter were confusing about her last one. Gem seems fine. Third netball game today. They won their first two and drawed 1 all today. Very cute! She had a big weekend last week with a sleepover for Sunday School and then another night at a friend's house and got to go to What Now on the Sunday. (I was still asleep when she was on tv!) Hope everyone else is managing to tread water. Take care!

Hello Lelo - Sorry to hear that Leo's reflux is really bad at the moment but glad that he is doing #2s for you. We do seem to be very obsessed with these kids' outputs...LOL...I never thought I would be inspecting a nappy with so much interest!!! Hope that you get more 'me time' with DH on holiday. How is your neck? Dolphin - happy marking! Sorry to hear the girls are still miserable but I hope that things have improved there and the flu bug is leaving your household. Bri - the boys sure are keeping you busy. I hope things with Luca improve and that you get some answers soon. Glad to hear that the gastrocopy went okay. How has Luca been today? Is he less wheezy? Gutz - are your cuties behaving? Suomi - how are your girls? Hope they are good for you this weekend. HannahKate - I have to say it again but James is just too cute. Hope the oat trial is still going well. It sure is nice to hear that although you had so many issues with BF in the start you continued to BF till he was 2yrs old! BF is a lot more demanding and tiring that I ever expected....but still hanging in there. Just when I think we get past one issue another rears its ugly head!! What did you do to help build your milk supply when it was low? I am trying to BF Maia as much as possible but it is a bit hard when she is not keen - sometimes I still think she remembers that BF was not pleasant so is never overly fussed. Roz - hope Miss 15 has a better week after the weekend and that she gets some answers from the specialist. Well......have not been online until now as I have not been feeling crash hot. Have been suffering from dizzy spells and my body feels like it is in pain. Feeling a tad better this evening but have the feeling of extreme tiredness...been falling sleep early last 2 nights having to be woken by DH to feed Maia. That aside...Maia is still sleeping okay but her feeding is not much improved. I feel like a broken tape recorder talking about her lack of feeding... I don't think my low milk supply is helping at all but that is another story on its own along with a few other BF issues...according to my LC I am a bit of a mystery and so is wee Maia....LOL. Spoke to Paed yesterday too and he would like to keep things the same for another week to make sure that her lack of feeding is not due to her 3mth jabs. He did however mention that he is keen for us to have a trial period off Losec in about 2 weeks time....eekkk!!! Makes me a bit nervous just thinking about it. I'm not sure the reason for wanting to do this but I was too tired to question him yesterday... did anyone else have a similar experience early on when your DD/DS went on Losec? I hope everyone has a good nights rest. Yay for it being the weekend and a long weekend too!

Jazzie... I expressed . It was hard going with the feeding issues and tears especially in the night having to express after every feed which added another 1/2 to my time up. Sleep what was that. God I felt like a zombie every day.

Jazzie- big hugs hun I hope you are alright and what ever is causing you to feel yuk just goes away now! HK- LOL on dusting off jacket....heck mine never goes away at mo I freezing all the time. How is things? Kells- Hugs to you tonight, I really hope leo went to bed and actually lets you get some sleep. As you can see I not there yet, but soon I promise. Roz- you guys are having it rough aye! Hugs to all. Suomi- Hi how are things for you? found any magic cures yet for reflux and our lovely kiddies LOL Bri- How are you kids holding up? Is Luca improved some more? Typical aye that it is a reaction...grr like we dont get enough of those.
Us- WEll CAm had his xray and I think they said it looked like adnoids had grown back. We got to look at the xray and was funny to see some adult teeth hiding under his gums. Cam is complaining daily about not having any wiggley teeth yet so I guess it will happen soon. Charli is ok.....stil hypo and driving me nuts. I am not scared of terrible twos....its worst now LOL. She is into hitting and kicking at mo, and mainly me and her bro....little brat! This morning Cam was sitting on the loo doing his own business and she comes along and hits him on head with her shoe...OMG when did my darling turn into the devil. I told her preschool she is alittle brat sometimes and they couldn't see past the angelic smiling girl in front of them, well when I went to pick her up today I asked her if I could help her with her bag, she firmly and loudly said "no" and carried on draggin it along the concrete path!!! One of the teachers laughed and gave me a wink......guess she believes me now LOL. Anyway apparently she was playing me for a foul and is perfectly healthy...even though she had a slight temp, couldn't see in one ear for the wax ...(idiot dr even had a name for it ggrr), then had the guts to say to me, well if you bent my arm enough I might give you stronger cream for her rash, but I wouldn't use it on that age.......well why would I want it then!!! grrrrr So need a new dr with a brain! anyway must go get some sleep, need more energy than my body can produce at mo LOL Wishing all well and a full night sleep tonight. ...oh is that called dreaming

Jayden has had two assessments over the past few weeks, one an intellectual assessment, and one for Specific Learning Disabilities. We don't have the written report yet, but the verbal report was that at 7 years 9months he was scoring at the level of 5 years 6 months, so a definite intellectual delay, and he showed up Specific Learning Disabilities across the spectrum. So, we are waiting for the written report and then need to sort out where to from here as far as school and supports we need to put in place on top of what he already has. The public health nurse is fantastic, and she has said she will come to all meetings and help to advocate for us and jayden.
We had a nightmare night on Thursday, Jayden had fallen off the couch around dinner time and had hurt his back but I thought he was ok, he wanted to go to bed so gave him some pamol and he went off to sleep. Then woke at 11pm absolutely beside himself and couldn't move. Spoke to Healthline and to cut long story short, we had ambulance to hospital around 12.30, they thought he had damaged his kidney. In A&E til about 4am then transferred to CAA, he had morpheine etc. Surgeon FINALLY decided around 6am that it was severe bruising to the muscular tissue around kidney and that we could head home around 8am and just keep a majorly close eye on him and regular pain meds, and go back if either pain not controlled or movement doesn't improve. Poor kid had no sleep (and neither did we) from the time he woke at 11pm til 7pm the next night! Thankfully he then slept for a solid 12 and a 1/2 hours. He is still extremely sore and moving very gingerly so we will be having a pretty quiet weekend. I have a killer sore back today after having to carry Jayden everywhere as he can't even move himself from a lying down to sitting up position yet. one good thing tho, we hadn't weighed him for ages and of course they needed to weigh him to work out meds dosages and he was 25kgs, which is a huge weight gain for him!!!
I have had a realy bad migraine the last couple of weeks. I ended up having a pethideine injection last monday and had another one yesterday. Had a really good talk to my GP about how grotty I'm feeling with the meds I'm on and also that I am really concerned about my weight gain and the fact I keep puffing up. She said it is probably the epilum causing the continued weight gain, and also the nausea and tiredness, so seeing as it really isn't working anyway, I am going to start weaning off it and then we can look at trying a different prventor.
So....thats our novel update!!!!
