As I said, I stained ours too dark, which causes more expansion, and probably more noise at night when the house cools and contracts. It was some years before I stopped noticing the summer sounds. I agree that it isn't really a creak, more of a crack

Kel understand you on the mother guilt thing re feeding L is drowning in to much fore milk etc and slow weight gain last 2 weeks now been advised to go dairy free I getting very exhausted from all the catnapping and feeding and keep threatening to do
